But lets not forget makinson and foster are centres by trade. Just doing well on the wing.

he runs hard and runs near enough straight i would love to see him break the line and do a full lengther because his acceleration is very good, he is also a tough lad he took a hard swinging arm from coley to the face and he got straight back up after whistle had gone and ran back to his position hes a star in the making that lad i really like the way he has broke into that team and made that position his own he is the same age as my son and i always remember him playing fullback for hindley and also wigan st judes and he was breaking the line and causing damage with his speed and footwork everytime he got the ball theres a lad in the wigan acadamy called matthew russel who is also a full back he looks very dangerous too hes another star in the making look out for him

Nit exactly great centre a cover. I still can't get my head around us nit having two centres at the club since talau left

To be fair most teams dont have one top class centre we have two. Asking for a third as back up is just being greedy.

Differnece between top class and world class. I am not sure there are aqny world class centres in SL next year.

But Wheeler is good cover in the centres as is soliola. Flannery i just through in as an after though only if we had both centres out.

Two top class centres?

OK pete name 8cnetres in SL better than Meli and shenton and I'lllet you say they are just average. A top four centre is top class for me. Like I said there is a difference qwhen you start talking world class.

I don't care what other teams have, I only care about saints and IMO meli has done good job covering the centre but he's not a centre and never will be a real centre.

Shenton has been a let down to honest but had a good game Sunday and I expect him to have settled by next year.

He got a lot of good ball on Sunday and not only that, he was clearly being used as an additional forward as he took the ball up a lot. He was excellent in defence. Meli, by contrast, was generally a lazy ahse who made little impact at all and at least one utterly dumb decision. Give me Wheeler any day of the week. His footwork alone would have bamboozled Wigan.

I wonder if the improvement was due to him getting more passes in his direction, he seemed to get a lot more ball than usual maybe a change in game plan.

I would say so, he was getting the ball a little earlier and in better space to break through half tackles. Played with a lot of enthusiasm.

You say Meli is not a centre, but he's been a hell of a lot better for us playing centre for a year than he has playing on the wing for three years.

Well said, IMO.Simmons saw it straight away that Francis was a liability on the wing.
