| It is weird, that when we weren't as good, yes the fans got behind the team, but it wasn't a great atmosphere. Now we're top dogs again the atmosphere is brilliant, by far the best in the league (Except at the DW )

| I think your resurgence in atmosphere started last season as your fans seemed to be more vocal even before you had any success. Perhaps a new optimism.

| Yeah, we always have been good, but when Noble left, we had a new belief, but the Ultras have brought something good and new to the support. I love it.

| Quote Sporties="Sporties"Saints Fans dont need Ultras or a Drum

I thought Wigans vocal support was pretty average considering they have already set up an Ultras in a stadium where you can stand and sing together.
Obviously it was a a very nervous match for them getting back to wembley .
Personally this I find the Ultras thing a bit pathetic but we will need to create some atmosphere in the new ground and hopefully that will come through the standing areas.
Dont split the fans with a little boys club.'"
I agree; those goons doing really get on my t*ts - which is probably what is intended.
I'm also guessing it also gets on some of their own supporters t*ts which is probably not what was intended although the morons who do it probably don't care.
Unfortunately the BBC (yesterday) and Sky (when we got hammered by them at widnes) gave them the oxygen of publicity.
I just hope we don't follow them down that particular track which appeals to the yob in all of us.

I think the general consensus from redvee is that they're just hoping to set up an organised singing group rather than an ultra scene. It just makes people feel part of something and will no doubt increase the number of singers!
Although it can be very effective, the ultra scene runs the risk of getting out of hand. Also, I don't think it suits a 'family game'. However, Wigan seemed to have steered away from the ultra side of things and concentrated more on the singing side with the rebranding of the 'brigantes'. Its a more friendly brand and I think encourages more people (of all ages) to get involved.
Well played I say

| Ultras (i'm guessing) refers to the flag side of things and not the violent side of things seen in italy. I think it brightens up
the stands and shows the commitment of the fans.
The ultra fans associated with football are full of vile hate. Would be interesting to see however, if they were as hard with no hoodies on
and no knives and play a proper game.

| Quote Bluenosewarrior="Bluenosewarrior"Okay never knew that, quite funny IMO.
And we brought Just Can't get enough into RL, we can't have the two biggest rivals singing it! And i don't know, where i was it was bouncing, where you were probably the same. Fair play to the Saints fans who tried to stay as long as us. We were there for a good 30 minutes after FT! haha'"
Me and my two mates stayed in the ground as long as possible, before the stewards came waltzing down to get rid off us. Then we had to leave!

| Spot on Gaz, the Ultras are the flags and the new songs. I know a few of them and they would not want any violence, it's all to create a better atmosphere, to make OUR GREAT GAME more accessible by people who may not like it.

| If any of you question the motives of the people then come down and meet a few of us. Some of the nicest folk ou could wish to meet. No idiots appart from myself
I really think saints fans should do something similar even if it is just for singing. Personally I think the flags look great.
You can't deny they look great taken to away games and at the home games at the top of the south stand.

| Quote SecondRowSaint="SecondRowSaint"Thinking back on the semi, the atmosphere was great. We were good vocally, and Wigan were obviously.
I was stood todays the back of the stand near the middle. We were in good voice and I wonder if we can do something like Wigan have done with all this 'ultra' stuff.
I think with the new stadium next year it would be great if we enter it with a bang and have a great atmosphere for all of next year and after that by replicating what Wigan do but do it better. It looks really enjoyable and I reckon it would catch on fairly quick if we did it.
Thought anyone?'"
Plans for this have been under way for a long time. Details to come in the offseason!

| As long as the Rugby League ultras are kept on a seperate mentality to those in football. In football they exist as a vehicle to organise violence and have little to do with the actual football.
