| Pryce, along with Roby, has suffered from the slower ruck speed this season. If you look back at the great things Pryce does, he nearly always does them off the back of big go-forward and a quick play-the-ball, when he gets the chance to run at a retreating defence. These situations have been hard to come by this season (especially with our lack of prop-forwards).
Pryce is still a good player, and didn't have a bad game yesterday IMO, but he just isn't going to have the same devastating impact under the current interpretation of the rules.

| Pryce amazes me! IMO he is such a gifted player, but only when things are going right and there is no pressure on him. I commented all game to my missus, asking when he was going to spark, but never did (though I didnt expect him too!). I would rather have a mediocre player who stands up to be counted when the going gets tough rather than a so called 'star' who only shines when everything is rosy on the field. I would comment about Long, Wilkin and Graham, but this thread is not about them. Hope you guys dont mind me coming on here and posting, and FWIW I thought that it was a great game, and the decisions didnt go for you on the night (we at Cas no all too well about Mr Bentham!!!!! p**k!)

| Here's what I posted about Pryce on the Wigan board.
I've always thought that Pryce could be a very good loose forward. A Saints back three of Wilkin, Flannery and Pryce would be well balanced.
A runner (Pryce) a footballer (Wilkin) and a tackler (Flannery) has always been my ideal for the back row. (Not the players the balance)

Totally agree - Pryce is not now and has never been a standoff

| Quote Saddened!="Saddened!"Give over. He's brilliant in defense and does a lot of work in attack too.
You can't blame the whole teams attacking foubar on him. Where has Matt Gidley been since he signed the last deal of his career for example, what has happened to Wellens chiming into the line like a centre? When did Sean Long turn that bad?'"
Give over - he's done nothing on the big stage. Needs a rocket big time or should be shifted out of such a key psoition as 6. May be now is time to move him to FB?

It's not a case of 'could' - Pryce has been playing like a loose forward for three years. The similarities between his game and Sculthorpe's are uncanny at times.

Pryce is a talented runner of the ball in the correct position he can be a massive asset to Saints. I'd like him to be officially played at Loose forward but if he needs to stay in the back then I'd have him in at Centre or even get him to fullback where he can still inject himself into the game. That would leave the 6 spot open for Wheeler to stake a claim
