I thought this too. It seemed to echo around the ground.

| Just watched the match now, and think the worst part of the new stadium is the HOOTER.
It really is a feeble, pathetic thing.
We need a proper hooter, get something off an old ship that can be heard for miles around, and which will wake the dead.

Warrington appear to be following Saints in uprating their food and drink offerings, which is good to see.
www.warringtonwolves.org/tickle- ... -buds-5016
The more clubs realise the added value they can get from offering a decent food selection the more money they will actually make.
This is something the yanks and Aussies have known for some time, but we in the UK seem to be only now catching up with.

| The noise was fine, not jumping, but then most games are not jumping, ever been to Huddersfield away you get like 3 or 4 fartowns a match.
If you get a Derby up there then yeh it will be jumping, but sometimes it's about watching good rugby, venting a bit, occasionally singing. But Rugby is not my weekly sing a long. If I wanted a weekly sing along I'd join a choir not watch RL.
As for Saddened, he left his hearing aid at home hence why he could not hear even though he was sat closer than me and I could hear fine.

I think most of our fans were seething at the thought of your stadium compared to ours. Seeing that metropolis of wonder going up has been like a dagger through our hearts. I am currently scouring the Oxford Dictionary to find a word to describe its unbridled magnificence.

The drink (Saints Gold) is really quite good. It's about as good a keg as you can get anywhere in a stadium venue and at £2.80 not badly priced.
The food though.............I had a peters "steak" pie on Friday before the game. I was happy to pay £3 as my view is its all going to an excellent cause (the Club) so if its overpriced, well I'm not too bothered.
My mistake though was assuming that it was a) steak and b) in any way edible.
I tried my best to eat it but the meat was as tough as boot leather and surrounded by fat, mixed in with grizzle.
Did I just get a bad pie? Unfortunately not - as I approached a bin, two other guys were also binning their steak pies and were extremely vocal in their disappointment to say the least. We were then joined by a third guy who was also binning his pie who had equally strong views.
I am in my 50's and can honestly say it was the worst pie I've ever come across. (the best pies are Blackburn's from cambridge road which I stock up on when I come over from direland).
Sorry for the moan - please don't burn me at the stake (no pun intended) for heresy or even worse don't make me eat another of those chuffin' pies. I'm trying one of those massive hot dog thingys at our next home game.

| The chicken and mushroom were simply awful too. Skinny pies they were with about a square centimetre of mushroom and a couple of chicken shavings. It was basically just pastry and very dry at that. Won't be returning for another of those.

No-one is going to burn you at the stake here, but have you put a constructive complaint in to the club itself? If you want to see an improvement its the best way to get one, especially if its from two dozen blokes emailing them rather than standing around a bin grumbling

We got dealt with of 200 Salford fans!? Firstly, sort your spelling and grammar out before coming to troll. Secondly stop trying to dodge the swear filter, and finally whilst you may have thought you sounded like 1000 elephants trumpeting, we barely heard you from the West Stand bar the odd occasion once you'd scored.

| When we were walking to the stadium, before we got to the bridge, there was an enterprising guy selling hot pies from the back of his van for £1.

I saw that too. Where was he from and is he official is my question? I was very tempted, but there was the nagging doubt it could be anything in those pies.

| Stick to the burgers is my advice as against Widnes they were fab. The Rollover hotdogs are always good too if ridiculously overpriced.
