Exposed like every other winger was against Richards last season you mean? Hardly a fair example.

He's a myth. The only way anyone is exposed by Paat Richards is if you give away penalties under the posts or when he's under no pressure.
He made up his leg injury so he could avoid the pressure of having to kick when it meant something. He'd go well at Saints.

I've said on here before that I think he could make it as a fullback. I'm not sure how pacey he is over the long term - he's certainly nippy short distance - but he has very good positional sense, is good under the high ball, good hands, a sidestep, balls, learns quick and reads the game well. He would also manage to kick the ball over the halfway line for a dropout, instead of doing a Wello when all the fans are wishing the ball would get somewhere close to the halfway line!

Rubbish. He caught the high ball that won the match on 20 June. But it wasn't a Grand Final. He was only just 20, he had only played in the first team for half a season, he'd never been in a final before, and his team were playing bollox. He wasn't exposed at all. Next time he is at a final, he'll be fine.

Your memory is playing tricks with you again. Yes Karl Pryce did run over Foster just on half time, but the tackle to which you are referring was on George Carmont, Pryce had left the field injured (just for a change).

| Hes a good kid, game as you like and a smashing lad off the pitch, but lets be honest, he will be no better than Anthony Stewart or Steve Hall

I thought Paul Wellens' tackle was on George Carmont?
It really doesn't matter, however, because my point was that Foster had learned from his first mistake and drove the attacker, be it Pryce or Carmont or some guy from the under 11s, into touch. Foster learns quick and applies his lessons.

He's already better than Steve Hall.

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubblegum.
Don't you struggle. Don't you fight. Don't you worry, cause it's your turn tonight!

| He looks decent enough does Foster. He's unlikely to ever be a world beater, but as winger he should do ok. He is after all pretty good under the high ball, apart from when Pat's around.

I agree. The boyish Beckham looks and million dollar hairstyle set him apart from the tan and the cute smile of Hall.
I'm with you on this one.

| My take on Foster is that he is a hard-working young kid with a good attitude, well grounded, who will do well for us if he carries on working hard.
I agree he's quick enough without being explosively fast, but few wingers are explosive anymore. In the modern game the wing is seen as a bit of a luxury position, where the majority just need to be defensively sound, good under the bomb, decent finishers and good on kick returns. Foster ticks all those boxes for me as a solid, basic winger. His goalkicking alone also brings value to the team.
I still have hope that Ade Gardner will have a good year in 2011. I wish we saw more flashes of his ability like we did in the home game against Hull KR where he showed outstanding pace and strength that people had forgotten he has. Hopefully it will be beneficial to both Foster and Gardner to know that there is a willing and able replacement waiting in the wings if their form isn't great.

| His biggest asset is his goalkicking. For a young player he is the best goalkicker at that age that I have seen since Andy Farrell.

He's one faux-sophisticated tattoo away from being world-class.

Incidentally. My memory was very accurate. It was Karl Pryce that Foster pushed into touch, followed quickly by Wello on someone else. I've just watched the match again. Foster does tackle Carmont too, but that is later in the game.
