But that still isn't the fans' fault and so why do people keep on at the fans about it?

The OP was having a go at the Quins club, not the fans. As were most of the others.
The only fan who got some chat was the one calling Saints fans w@nkers and work-shy and justifying a hike in prices to watch a RU game taking place before most RL fans would have arrived by having a pop at Saints' main stand . . .

| Quote: SaintsFan "Given that I pay anything up to £19 to stand on concrete under a hole that drips rain on me I really don't have a problem with the charge, no. But if I did have a problem with it, I wouldn't verbally bash up the heads of Quins fans who can do nothing about it and probably feel really embarrassed about it. Also, I wouldn't storm off in a huff, cancelling hotels and God knows what. I thought the idea was to support Saints?
The reaction on here is really embarrassing.'"
So would you be "happy" if Saints told you that they were going to host St Helens Town FC a couple of hours before the Wigan match on Good Friday, and that you will have to pay £10 more on top of your seat price, whether you want to watch the football or not?
That is basically the situation that is being created by Quins here.
If it was Wigan, I would have to think VERY hard about whether to attend the Quins match, because quite simply, you are being ripped off.
This should be an OPTIONAL double-header ticket, not a compulsory one. Mainly because, as stated above, the coaches which are transporting the fans will not arrive in time to get the "benefit" of the additional game that you have been forced to pay for.
Anybody refusing to go because of this, you have my support.
No RL club can afford to alienate fans in this way right now, least of all the club with (probably) the lowest average attendance in the league.
And as to using this scam as a way to massage their average figures for the RFL - They should be ashamed of themselves.

| Quote: FearTheVee "But we didn't charge you extra to watch a RU game beforehand.
We sold the ground out without posters last weekend thanks, when Quins can drag in more than 3,000 fans every week you can start questioning the marketing of a team that averages over 10,000.
I'm a big Quins fan and watch them quite often (living in Reading) but getting all defensive won't solve anything.'"
I'm not being defensive, if you read what I say! I am willing to admit the current problems, but don't preach about selling out the ground, over 6,000 travelled from Warrington and you get many attendances well Under 10,000 it is purely the Warrington and Wigan fixture, two better supported clubs home and away that boost your average. If you think your marketing is good then you head is in the sand!
Quins RL have problems, but the whining of £25 is what we are discussing, and as I stated you pay £24 for a seat at Knowsley Road, away supporters may claim they are paying for a pre-march game. I supported the name change, but now I have doubts! just like I will always call the Dunriding Lane ground Knowsley Road, definitely not a stadium LOL - 3 Northern clubs in Super League get few more than 5,000 and one team is only two points above is, should they go as well?

I guess you mean us?
If you're getting into that debate, I think one of Wakey/Cas should go, there are far too many West yorks teams in the comp as it is. I think top flight RL in London is vital for the game, but £25 to watch a union game that you'll miss anyway is just daft.

| Away fans from teams like saints have made their attendances respectable in recent years, great way to repay them.

indeed! This "offer" is as interesting to me as a double header at your gaff watching Wigan athletic first, but making us pay £25 for the privilege

It has been done wrong Saint Simon I don't argue that, but remember you can pay £24 for a stand seat at Knowsley Road, is that just daft for any away supporters? it is only £1 CHEAPER than everyone is complaining about? - we Quins RL have not won over many Quins RU supporters, I wonder in fact if the name has in fact damaged us, while London Broncos was a more general name for a Capital club, I just think the complaints have been a little OTT about a £1 dearer stand seat.

I think you're missing the point of the complaint to be honest.
Every other SL side's supporters will be paying £15 at the Stoop. Saints fans will be paying £25 to include a match they won't even be there to see, and a sport that most actively dislike for well documented reasons.
How much the tickets cost in relation to Saints tickets is irrelevant, it's the fact that Saints fans are being asked to pay two thirds more than every other away fan will, to miss a game of rugby union.

If it meant watching Saints then I would do it, yes, and without whinging. I'd wonder at it, obviously, but I hate soccer with a passion so I would probably wonder about it more than most. But I wouldn't moan about it. I want to support Saints and so that is what I would do.

So all this whinging is about a principle? That's even worse! Saints supporters cancel their hotel bookings, choose not to support their team, write 'snotty of St Helens' emails to QuinsRL and berate Quins supporters over a bleedin principle?
Spare me.

Depends whether you think "bleedin principles" are important I guess. I do, a few others seem to think that way too. You're very much entitled to think differently, so consider yourself spared as requested. Its not just Saints fans though, Quins RL fans are being asked to pay extra too remember and a fair few are equally miffed.
My gripe is why should RL fans (Saints AND Quins) have to pay an extra £10 for a union game they will in all likelihood not get to see even if they wanted to due to coach times etc? Especially since union fans get an extra game at no additional cost to their usual ticket? Do you not see why that might annoy some people to the point that they want to voice their displeasure?
You claim that you wouldn't be miffed if Saints ramped up prices by a tenner and put a union game on before a RL game - fair play. I find that exceedingly hard to believe, but I have no reason to doubt you. I know I'd be very miffed indeed.

Why am I missing the point when I have clearly said I agree, it is just that I think it is all getting a little OTT, it is relevant the price of tickets at Knowlsey Road, it is too expensive for a rugby league match!
