| The coaches didnt see anything in it and joe seems to be ok
Tigers coach Terry Matterson on Joe Westerman's injury, but we will have a look at the video. We need to find out why he got the injury."
Saints coach Mick Potter on Westerman's injury:
"Things like that do happen but you do lose a bit of focus. It is distracting and it makes you feel for the opposition.
"It is a bit sad that something like that can happen in a game.
"I hope Joe is all right. Making sure he is okay is the first priority."

| Big wraps to the Saints Fans today ,thought you were superb (especially the ovation you gave to Joe when he went off),I also have to give praise to Mr Pryce whilst not been a big fan of his, he has to be commended for the way he was shouting at the ref that something serious was wrong with Joe.
BTW Thought that was one of the best Saints performances seen at Wheldon Road (The Jungle) for many a year

| Quote: The Chair Maker "It wasnt on report, and play continued for some time before ref stopped game.
I didnt see what happened, and neither did Cas fans near me. There was no big bruha from the Cas fans behind sticks, until later on when it became clear Westerman was seriously hurt. Then it appeared that they had decided there must have been a high shot or late hit, off someone.
It was not nice seeing Westerman appear to have an epileptic seizure on the pitch.'" I agree, I missed it but nobody around seemed to think there was anything other than a bit of bad luck which always happens. As has been said if there is more to it I am sure it will be noticed when it is watched back so we will just have to wait and see.
The important think is that hopefully Westerman will be fine and back on the pitch soon.

| i can only echo what other cas fans have said about the way in which everybody in the ground conducted themselves during for many would have been a very worrying sight.
thank god it appears joe has not done any serious long term dammage and hopefully sometime soon he will be back out on the field doing what he does best.
i never saw anything in the tackle and you can only put it down to bad luck.a massive pat on the back to leon pryce for his quick action in getting to joe and stopping the game,he got some stick today but he`s gone up in my estimations and it never ceases to amaze me the respect and care for one another the players have despite knocking lumps out of each other everyweek.

| There was nothing illeagal with the collision, westy and a Saints player went for the ball under the sticks that was bobblin about and they collieded and it appeared Westy went down funny. Nobody saw it cos Cas went straight down Saints right hand side to the corner.
Then for god knows what reason Pryce was taking abuse from a LARGE section of WRE but ffs it was him who got the ref to stop the game.
But well done ALL the Saints fans,to a man/woman you clapped him off.

| The vibe from the fans who were there today is now coming through and it seems from the general consensus that there was nothing in the challenge and it was one of those unlucky accidents.
Seems also that both sets of players and fans acted in the true spirit of the game and for that we have to applaud our love and appreciation of rugby league.
Also great to hear that Joe is fit and well to play another day and that's the most important thing.
From saints to Cas.

From watching the highlights on Sky Sports News, whoever mentioned Graham was either lying or [iseverely [/imistaken.
He was nowhere near the incident, Gilour made the challenge but there was very little in it, IMO he's hit his head on the floor as he's fallen, that can be the only explanation. The tackle isn't even hard, it's little more than a grab.

| Having seen it on Sky Sports News it turns out Graham won't be being cited for it, nor will he have to keep his behaviour in check, because it was Lee Gilmour involved in the collision. There was nothing in it either despite the suggestion that he may have been taken out late. It was innocuous and it was the impact/jarring effect with the floor that caused the problem it seems.
Good to hear Joe is okay and hopefully he'll be back in action soon.

| Loose ball, gilly rushed out and him and joe just went into each other the fall was what set Joe off, horrendous to see any player have a fit, it was a real jaw dropper of a moment for me and every single fan and player of both clubs was concerned, you could hear a pin drop as people realised the severity of the issue. The cass fans then did theri bit by getting the joe westerman chants going to make sure the kid knew his folk cared for him.
No malice or intent in the incident, just a freak RL accident and one I hope I dont see again.
Get well Joe.
P.S Great day out up there in Cass, it maybe a ramshackle club but the free stuff for the kiddies was a hoot and a tip top pitch that resulted in some top notch tries, for both clubs. Even the training pitch out front was better than some rugby pitches I have seen
