| Wheeler was on a hiding to nothing last nght on that wing. Simply compare the number of times he touched the ball compared to Gardener. Playing out of position is difficult, but when the ball hardly comes your way it is difficult to 'stay in the game' so to speak, and you will always exect a mistake from a young player in such circumstances.

| Quote: Ski "Jesuite H Kirshna. This again.
IFhe reads the boards, he has to expect to be bagged, like Tyrer getting his knickers in a twist for being called a turnstyle.
He should use posts that "cause offence" to help himself better his game. Use it as inspiration.
If he gets wound up reading these, he is going to struggle going to big away games were the fans will really be on him.'"
You personally seem to bag any potential player at every oppotunity. I seem to remember you having a field day with Tyrer.
It's common sense. Why criticise a 19 year old lad playing out of position ? Infact i dont think i've ever seen him play on the wing in any youth games. So it's not like he as a bit of experiance there.
It's the experiance players that are not performing at the minute.

| How did he have a bad game?
Because he knocked on and passed inside to a man in support but a Salford player got in between them?
If thats the criteria for having a bad game then I guess all 17 had a bad game since they all made some mistake or other.
Try focusing on what he did well - his footwork for the "no-try" was amazing, his break before his mis guided pass was also top drawer.
He wasnt leaky in defence and there is no way he gets critisism from me about losing a ball in the air to an established SL player who is about 6 inches taller than him.
I do have to wonder why this guy is now getting some stick - I have been nothing but impressed with him in his few appearances

People starting threads slating his performance isent going to help (he reads these boards).
FWIW his a fantastic talent who will make it.'"
In that case I'd advise him to stop.

| Sorry if I missed it, but why didn't Armstrong play? I didn't hear about him getting a knock or anything. Seems strange to play a young stand-off there instead.

Maybe Potter believes Wheeler offers more in attack than Armstrong?

Maybe Potter just wanted to give someone else an opportunity?

No one is slagging him off. Ski suggested he has a big chest, which is obvious, and I suggested he had a poor game, which he did.

| He didn't have a poor game. He made a few panicy mistakes but that didn't add up to a poor game, and is very understandable in a youngster put on the big field. He did some good stuff too. He had a mixed game not a poor game.
