Unless wigan totally bottle it I can't see anyway for saints to do it. Warrington, with all their attacking flair struggled to break through wigan's defence. Wigan's pack was unbelievably powerful that first 20 minutes. Warrington were barely getting out of their 20 metres. It was relentless. If wigan start in similiar fashion the game will be over by halftime.

If our pack play as well as they can then its a much stronger pack than Warrington's. In fact, on form we have the best pack in SL. I'm confident we won't lose it in the middle.

They've got a soft underbelly.

Saints strength will be in the pack last 5 out of 6 games they have stood up well. Masoe, Armor, Walmsley, Manu, LMS, Soliola and Roby are pretty decent once they get going, they need to play like they did at the DW with good line speed and in there faces to break up there structure.
Obviously with no recognised half backs we are restricted in the creativity department, its a tall order but not a lost cause, if we start well with a lot of energy that might give confidence as the game progress.
If we sit back and let them run at us they gain field position, we will struggle to get going and make up ground, I'm just hoping its not going to be a "wrestlemania" type of game.

| I don't think anyone should be giving the game to Wigoon just yet, but we will have to be at our very, very best to overcome a very physical, dominant (and occasionally dirty) team.
I'm simply looking forward to attending a major final again watching my team playing there. I will be going with no real expectations, other than to have a good afternoon/evening out and watch a final in front of a hopefully packed Old Trafford. Win or lose I intend to enjoy the day. I'm also really excited about the warm up act too, James, but that's a different thread...
Let's try not to be too negative over the next week. Let's get there in numbers, support the boys from minute 1 to minute 80 and hope for a good final. And let's be honest - after the season we have had with injuries, it's an incredible achievement to finish top, and reach the Grand Final - we should all be very proud of that.
COME ON YOU SAINTS!

Hence why I said if we play to our best and we have a stronger pack "on form."

| Shocked & disappointed with all this negative talk. We've played half the games this season with no half backs. It's not like we lost them a game or two from the end of the season. We've adapted and we're a dangerous side...a side that nilled Cas the other week, a team that turned over a difficult Catalans.
This is not a one sided final. We'll match them on the night. For crying out loud, have a little faith in your team, you know...that team that finished top.

| Unfortunatley top means nothing , much to my dislike Wigan are the best team at the moment and whilst a full strength Saints could run them close i just dont see them getting within 12 points with no halfbacks and it could be a rout . Next year could be a different kettle of fish though

Top means we were the most consistent side this year, and that's with an injury ravaged side, a side that turned Wigan over in their own back yard. Apart from half backs, we match them. And we have the best hooker in the game in Roby.
Wigan are favourites because they have half backs, which is something that can be nullified by a brilliant display from our forwards. We still have plenty of speed and threats over the pitch.
Wigan can harp on all week for all I care. This is a local derby, forget injuries, it's gonna be a belter.

I'm very sure you don't want to play this game. Remember the broken jaw? www.therfl.co.uk/the-rfl/disciplinary/item?5009
Saints aren't favourites, but that doesn't in any way mean we can't win it, we've beaten them this year at their own ground with similar players missing and there's no reason we can't do it again! Bash em in the forwards and nullify their halves. If MM starts kicking off, Sia looks like he's been itching to take someone out for weeks. Fight fire with fire!

Roby made 1054 tackles in the regular season and not one of those would have intent to injure.
Now when we come to Wigan's tactics of 1054 tackles we are probably talking 100+ tackles with intent to cause injury.
Roby is not on the same discipline page compared to Paddy Wack.
