18821_1298880800.jpg
I've always thought of McGuire as a good player, and I wouldn't normally wish injury on any player, but there was a certain hint of poetic justice to that.
Another classic:
You forgot to take off the "Saints Reduction Factor" when calculating the ban.
Standard suspension / Saints Reduction Factor = Actual ban for Saints player.
Therefore (2 / 3) = 0.666
0.666 < 1 therefore actual ban equals "less than 1 match".
Therefore ZERO.
Confirmed at 8000 on the website today in the story about the ST open training event, club still pushing hard for 10,000.
Did a quick count I get about 590 allocated seats left in the North/South Stands with only block C of the south relatively untouched.
I do hope the club extend early bird until December 24th as in previous years just to give a real push before Christmas, hit the 9,000.

| looking at individual blocks in the reserved sections the approximate figures are as follows:-
North Stand
C block = 20 seats remaining
D Block = 7 seats remaining
E block = 2 seats remaining
F block = 12 seats remaining
G block = 65 seats remaining
So just 105 seats unsold within the reserved section of the North stand, giving total sales in the North stand of approximately 2682 seats.
South Stand
C block = 345 seats remaining, 36 sold
D block= 38 seats remaining, 244 sold
E block = 0 seats remaining, 211 sold
F block = corporate prawn sandwich
G block = 0 seats remaining, 275 sold
H block = 3 seats remaining,166 sold
I block = 97 seats remaining, 413 sold
So just 483 seats remaining in the reserved section of the South stand.
Total sales in South stand reserved are approximately 1345
Therefore reserved seat sales account for approximately 4027 of the 8000+ total
I would hazard a guess that we would therefore have sold around 3000 west terrace season tickets.
with the remaining total being accounted for by corporates and people in family seating corner and unreserved seating.
With regard to the West terrace i think its more likely that this area will be the one that benefits from a late surge in season ticket sales just prior to kickoff, in part because your spec isnt affected by when you purchase. Unlike in seats were the earlier you buy the better choice of seats you get.
Also there is only a £23 saving for buying a terrace ticket in the early bird period compared to general sale.
With the West terrace having an approximate capacity of 3900. I think its safe to say that matchday tickets will be in limited supply for this stand come season time. In fact it may be a case of only a couple of hundred places going on general sale.
My personal hope is that this stand becomes season ticket only with no match day sales.

| The disparity in take up between I and C block in the South Stand is interesting, same with the disparity between C and G in the North. I wonder why people have favoured one end over the other in these stands? Rhetorical question!
Personally I hope no stand completely sells out to season ticket holders just in case somebody wants to introduce a newbie to the game. But obviously from a Saints POV it would be beneficial to sell the place out to season ticket holders.

It does seem illogical for people to prefer to sit near their own try line because its close to the home end rather than sit on the 20 metre line towards the away end. Think its just human nature though to want to stay close to their tribe.

Ah, that would make sense. I didn't know which way the lettering went so I didn't know which was the home end. I'm in the West Stand so the lettering is all irrelevant.

| Season tickets for youngsters are very cheap, around the £25-35 range.
They are rarely bought early as there's no discount and many are purchased only a week or so before the season's start.
That could be another 500-1000 in numbers that will only come in very late.
It does happen at most SL clubs.

This from last year re Hulls season ticket sales may provide some indication of where we will end up ticket wise.
www.code13rugbyleague.com/2010/1 ... mash-6500/
essentially Hull sell around 6500 ticket by Christmas but have around 9500 by season kick off.
We are well ahead of the first figure so if we follow Hulls example then 10k should be well within the realms of possibility.

It's interesting that on the North Stand the unallocated section is almost as big as the allocated section.
I'm also intreged to know how many corporate seats there are, because the corporate section is rather large. There is the middle F section but also it seams to spread into the front rows of most of the south stand allocated section.
I thought maybe about 1000k corporate, but I've not counted. Then the unallocated and family ontop of that seams to be another 2k.
So in terms of sales if we can see 4k on the allocated section, if a further 1k is corporate, there could still be quite some space in the terracing on the west stand as I doubt that last 3k will be all west terrace. There will be a decent proportion in the family section.

Although there are two family sections i think in reality only the west corner will have any takeup, as thats were the home fans will be.
According to the plans this family section only has a capacity of just over 400. So it wont take that big a bite out of the 8k total.
Corporate capacity is indeed around 1000. However the fact Saints havent stopped selling this on the website shows there is some space left.

| Saints have posted some info re their premier business club lounge which has capacity of 210 saying only 45 places left.
so that 165 corporates in that lounge on top of all those in the exec boxes which are sold out, which is another 148 people.
at least 313 prawn sandwich eaters therefore in the south stand.

| Just had a quick glance over the Saints website, interesting to note that sales of tickets for the Widnes match are going pretty strong too. So much for the price tag being too steep.
But back on topic, it does look like there is a little bit of seat switching going on. some blocks actually having more seats available than previously (whilst the overall trend is still down)
I wonder if this is just people turning up and asking if they can change for a same priced seat or the ticket office asking people if they want to move so they can block more groups of seats together in the remaining sections, therefore making them more appealling for people who have not bought yet?
