| Quote: SaintsFan "I think you may have been served by the same girl as me. She looked bloody freezing (her teeth were chattering) and was really apologetic. Me and the guy stood in front of me (young and good looking bloke) were both saying 'don't worry, it isn't your fault' and I took the coffee that had been mistakenly poured. Paid for it too, which was decent of me.
Service in the West Stand bars was great. Just the tills. Likewise one of the turnstiles was out of action which caused longer queues than were necessary but we got in and that's what counts.
I had no problems whatsoever in any regard at all. Could hear the PA, great view, got served quickly and by pleasant people freezing their butts off. The only downside was that it was fecking freezing but that one I can't pin on Saints!
One of the great things about our new stadium is that going there feels like going to an event, something really special. There is just that feel about the place. Wonderful, wonderful. Loved the evening.
The rugby from Saints in the first half was dire but once Royce had reminded them that the tryline was actually in front of them, necessitating them to go forwards rather than sideways, they upped their game and played some lovely stuff. We have a number of attacking threats, which is reassuring. We just need some of our forwards to man up.'"
I doubt it was the same person as i sit down in the north stand. I was queuing at the "beer only" section of the Kiwi bar.
Was talking to Mclennan and Billinge lump re the ground and they also said you feel you are going somewhere special. The ground also feels a lot bigger than it actually is. Especially the North stand concourse. Lumpy said the walk through town reminded him of going to Anfield, with huge crowds all heading in the same direction. You never really got that at Knowsley road. Though i remember you used to get it at Wigans Central Park.
Loved how walking through town many of the pubs were decked out in red and white.

| What a let down, no atmosphere at all, empty seats and standing areas with gaps.
On a plus side pitch looked ok

Where were the empty seats you refer to? The seating sold out.
The standing areas with gaps were in the East stand, this would usually be an away end but as Salford only brought 200 fans it was allocated as extra standing for Saints. If the game was at the Halliwell Jones it would have been full entirely with Saints fans.

I was hoping I would see replies similar to this. It does look like Saints have taken some of the feedback from fans from the Widnes game onboard, made some adjustments, and as a result, have given people a better matchday experience.
I hope others feel the same, but I am really proud of our new home. It's going to amazing once the weather warms up a bit!

| Honestly, why are you even taking him up??
The ground is superb, and any of the remaining little issues will no doubt be rectified as the season progresses.

| Slightly off topic but Ben Fogle tweeted about being at the game last night and said it was a great atmosphere. I don't particularly have any feeling either way on him but it's great advertisement from a well known national figure.

| There were empty seats actually, but I have a funny feeling they belonged to the posh folks and VIP's, who may have stayed inside watching rather than coming out in the cold with the rest of us.
The seats are sold but we can't force people to sit in them.
One things about the seats, I did not have to squash my knees for 80 minutes. Hurrah a stadium built for tall folks.

Yeah that is a very good point, at 6 foot 2 I very often find myself with sore knees at half time, however the leg room is plentiful and I could even move my legs!
Also wasn't the ceremony fantastic before the match, I choked up at one point at the sheer magnitude of the whole thing. Full credit to whoever thought that up because it was brilliant.
