| Quote: Deano G "I thought the point of Phil Clarke was to provide some balance given Eddie and Stevo's long running love affair with the self-styled "Entertainers"...'"
I agree with you, they have lauded Saints more than they should have down the years. I think that's Eddie and Stevo's way though, they get excited when they spot a trend. Whoever are champions and in form, they will ask can anyone beat this team? Can anyone stop them this season? And will become obsessed with particular players too, but I don't think this is done with any sinister intent. Eddie puts tags on things - like in the past 12 months he bangs on about Jamie Foster being able to kick blind folded. And no surprise to hear him talk up our 'comeback kings' credentials.
He is not a Saints fan though, and Stevo is of course a proud Yorkshireman. We just happen to be the only 'big 2' side throughout the entire super league, so we've more acclaim more often with the success. I agree it's irksome, but it is not done with genuine bias like Phil Clarke who is earnestly and distastefully supporting any team that plays against us.

It's what the Aussies did three years ago and then changed to the likes of Ennis and Smith.

To be fair mate, it's what fits for that particular team. Roby scooting suits saints as it puts us on the front foot and helps us get a roll on. It's the way saints play and works for us.
Some teams prefer the ball playing hooker like smith.
Great little scoot from the scrum for the try

I hope no one accuses me of anti Saints bias on this one. I hate it and have fought my corner with Wigan fans on when Micky Higham came to Wigan.
They went very quiet when Ridell showed them which way a hooker was supposed to play though.

Like I said, it fits in with the way saints play. It dont fit in with other teams. It's as simple as that.
His scoots give us the front foot that puts us on a roll.

| I'm not Clarkey's biggest fan myself tbh but with that penalty i think he was correct.
Would you class Jon Wells view as unbiased ?
If so, he said it wasnt a penalty and was just contesting the ball.

| Ganson pulled Saints for a few forward passes earlier doors. Both the Meli and Roby passes looked borderline, nothing in comparison to the one missed prior to Yeamans third try.
Excellent point though considering we went theyre with 9 missing. No other SL side would or could cope with such a crippling injury list, play effectively away games all year and still sit joint top. Ashe looks like yet another of the conveyor belt, some great competition when the likes of Pryce, Flannery, Wello, Lomax, Clough, Wheeler, Gaskell, Moore return.

| The bias was shocking today, when Manu's no try was given as scrum defence Clarke forgot he was on air and started shouting about the decision. Same with Carney, who normally does a great job, when he saw the replay of the penalty.

I listened to the game on Wish FM , i couldn't be d watching on the Tele as the weather was too nice to be stuck indoors although i did keep going indoorsto see the tries/good bits...one of the commentators was Paul Clough (current injured saints player) and even he said it shouldn't have been a penalty...i actually thought that he was very unbiased throughout the game

Did clough mention when he's expected to be back from injury?

He said his injury was an 'unusual one' something to do with nerves in the neck,so he couldn't identify any definate target date at the moment, but felt that it was going well
