| Quote St pete="St pete"I thought Kyle today played like a robot. He payed the game plan and didn't do his own thing when the chance came. He went the the motions instead of doing his own thing.'"
Kyle's problem was that he didn't take the line on at all. I very much doubt that was in the gameplan (unless it was doctor's orders).

makes me smile all this fuss over eastmond tried a couple of chips late in the game and people are praising him...i only hope he makes me eat my words...but somehow i dont think he will.'"
Now be honest ... would you be saying this if it weren't for the RU thing?
Kyle was rubbish last night, no question. But he was without his halfback partner, it was the first game of the season and it was his first game after a long spell of injury problems. He was clearly struggling with confidence when it came to taking the line on for this latter reason. If he stays fit and plays a few games he'll be fine, I'm sure.

| That's what I mean dux, he seemed to just go thru the motions of a game plan and not taking the line on when a gap opened.
He looked very very predictable and didn't put any doubt in the minds of the Wigan players.
I can't see him being allowed to play if the Docs orders was don't take the line on!
Maybe it was a mental thing, everytime he ran with it last year he got injured.

But surely taking the line on would be part of the game plan. Either way, it looked like a confidence issue to me. Not good enough last night, but nothing to worry about unduly.

| Kyle Eastmond is injury prone. He and everyone is aware of this fact. He does not want a big injury before he signs his £4,000 a week deal with Bath does he. He is a very selfish player, illustrated perfectly last season in one of the play off games when he played for a hour on one leg and would not be subbed. Saints should cut there losses now while he is fit because he will move eventually anyway. Half of his problem is Martin Offiah filling his head with delusions of grandeur for his own gain.
Get rid now
Come on you Saints stuff them pie eating b******s

| I have 2 thoughts on this:
1 Eastmond has been out for a while with a failry serious injury, bar a 30 minute run out in the friendly. In his previous games, he got injured. It makes sense to ease him back into the game, risking another few months on the sidelines would be foolish, even though the proze was a victory against Wigan. The long term view should have been to protect him for his first few games back.
2 Saints did ok, even with a poor Eastmond, and no effective stand off. Had we had a stand off (Wheeler has done nothing to convince me he can ever play at 6) and a 7 of any ability, we would have been a far stronger side. Losing Eastmond will be a blow, but far from the end of the world. Losing Graham would be a far bigger blow.

Agreed. We don't need the disruption.

| Let him go asap and charge yawnion for rest of his contract. Gives us room under the cap for a replacement - now who've we got? or who's available?
