| a very nasty injury, but hard to sympathise with an injury sustained while committing a foul. A bit like JJB a couple of weeks ago and Morley's eye socket. Live by the sword die by the sword.

I still don't see it so can't agree. He offers plenty for Leeds in SL but at international level I don't think he gets the room and is far less effective.
Terrible injury either way - maybe their daft Yiwi coach has brought this on his club with comments earlier in the year!
That though is Leeds season done I think (holds breath and thinks he's spoken too soon)

Never write off the rhinos.
We'll still have webb, burrow sinfield and smith for the attack.
We have 2 weeks to shape up and prepare for the game without mcguire.
We were in a worse position in 2008 and lifted the title.

He's looked great whenever I've seen him lately.
I think a combination of him losing his international shirt to tomkins (or a lot of posters assuming its Sam's now) and Leeds not being in pole position has allowed posters to appreciate his game more and give a more balanced opinion.

| I loath McGuire, the low down cheap shot merchant, but would not wish such an injury on him. If he sustained the injury in the course of fouling Carmont then I have even less sympathy.

He always smashed isn't he? Or was that just his dad?
Back to the topic, it's a shame for McGuire and a shame for Leeds, but not for England. Okay, he's had a great season, but he's still not international quality. Thankfully we have other half-back options to choose from now who are genuinely exciting.

Like who? Pryce is injured, Eastmond has mist most of the 2nd half of the season, Tomkins has played a large part of the season at full back. Burrow doesn't warrent selection based on this season. So who else are we going to pick? Kevin Brown? We'll be going into the 4 nations with pretty much no in form HBs.

Eastmond will be back, and at that level we can't trust Tomkins' shocking defence at full back. Myler will probably make the 'plane ahead of McGuire such is rugby league's current w[ia[/inkfest over Warrington.

I doubt Eastmond will be fit for the Four Nations. He can't string a full game together. It would have been good to watch him play, mind, but I can't see it myself.

| Bitching aside.
I don't like McGuire but from somone who has damaged and torn knee ligaments, all the best in his long recovery.
There are going to be some hard days out there.
Get well for next year because we want no excuses next year when we win the SL Vs Leeds next year.

| Did he cheat, or did his leg go before he made contact with Carmont and thus grab hold of his shirt?

He grabbed the shirt first but it doesn't matter anyway. He doesn't deserve to suffer a bad injury regardless.
He's always been a fair player and I hope he's back and playing as well as he's done recently as soon as possible.
