| Funny sport to choose unless your mentally and physically strong. I only played at local level and many times would be hurting for 2 days afterwards. Would love to see a few on here actually play the game

| Quote: FearTheVee "Calling players who pick up injuries in top flight RL "soft" is pretty funny from keyboard warriors who wouldn't last 20 seconds on a SL pitch.
Eastmond played every game this year until his ankle injury. An injury that kept him out for a couple of months, so I guess that wasn't "legitimate" either? In case the OP has forgotten - he injured this ankle again by coming back too early for a big game at Leeds - hardly shirking games is he?
Is Leon "soft" because he's hurt his neck? I certainly wouldn't call Soliola "soft" and he hasn't played much this year has he?
Eastmond isn't the first young player to pick up knocks, nor will he be the last. From what I've heard about him you'd struggle to come across a more dedicated pro (tee-total etc) so I'm certainly willing to give one of our best players the benefit of the doubt.'"
Good post. Ridiculous thread started by a pair of imbeciles. Esatmond was obviously in a fair bit of pain on Saturday. Supporters of most other clubs would love to have him in their side.

I played at all levels as a kid and signed for warrington on academy forms, that didn't work out as i broke my arm in my 1st game and when i returned from my broken arm i dislocated my thumb which i missed more games and warrington let me go.
I then signed for leigh academy and was playimg really well and widnes asked me to join them, after about a month i broke same arm, then i broke my ankle and dislocated my thumb more or less every week. widnes let me go as well due to injuries.
I've been playing Amateur rugby league ever since and never broke a bone again and never ever miss a game!
The point im making is injuries swings in roundabouts, that few years was my run of injuries. The is nothing to say wheeler and kyle are having there bad run of injuries now and will go next 5yrs injury free.
Wheeler is a worry tho imo, it's not like he breaks bones but always little niggly injuries which are the hardest to get over. When players don't get a good run thru niggly injuries its pretty common for something else to pull or strain.
One things for sure, they ain't soft as they are rugby players!

| Well you can send that soft lad to Wigan next season if you want. The lad is class, he has to be tough to play the game. Is some one only tough if they go looking for fights? Ok he has been injured a lot this season but so have the likes of Cunningham and i doubt any saints fan would call him soft. I am a Wigan fan and would love Kyle to move over but i know it will never happen.

Just because you bought the tracksuit from the club shop and hang around a gym wearing said tracksuit doesn't make you an academy player.

| I'm sorry but the OP is talking out if their anus.
Scully was injured for the best part of his final 2 seasons. Did he go soft?
Of course he didn't.
Sorry but you need to broaden your horizons

| what a joke of a thread. As a Wigan fan i would take him to the DW in a heartbeat. You dont find many people that play pro rugby that are soft. Some dont have the dedication but from what i hear he is a very good professional. I snapped my tib and fib through a bad ankle dislocation. I got over that and signed on at Wakefield. A bad ankle injury with serious ligament damage ended any chance of a pro game on any level. My point is joint injuries are a nightmare. They can happen at any stage of your career. it doesn't make you soft. eastmond and sam tormented the aussies and really got into them. a soft lad doesnt do this. eastmond is a credit to super league and a role model for youngsters. Hes had a few injuries but what a player he is going to be.
not as hard as sam though
