| I'm not typing all that out again.
In short, he's been flogged, and I've wanted him as the interchange hooker from the bench for years now.
He won man of steel for this role.
Not sure why a second quality hooker was never priority for saints. It should have been, and should be.
I wouldn't mind him missing out to England to give him a rest and Stoke the fire a little.
The other thing is saints are dog at the moment so he has too much to do

Hes still playing good stuff and looked dangerous, but there were a few times on Friday where I thought the Roby of a few years ago would have really punished us, but he never broke the line (even with our woeful defence)
I also think Hodgeson will become Englands number 9 (deservedly) and the best thing for Roby could be if Clarke or someone else is put in the squad ahead of him to give him a full offseason, just look what that did for JP
In fairness I dont see him every week, do you guys still think he is as good as hes ever been?'"
He's more of a distributor these days playing a similar role to aussie Cameron Smith, his scooting expeditions are few and far between because of tighter defences and also with our boring style of play. Defence wise he can put in a good shift but he has approached the twilight of his career and picks up more injuries which means he shouldn't really be playing 80 mins.
To get a bit more mileage out of Roby we should be using Fages at 9 for a short spell but our coach is completely out of touch with this scenario.

Roby needs his team on the front foot to let him scoot more and that's not happening much these days. Same with Clark at Warrington last year,he looked half the player he was as Warrington hardly got on front foot.
Players like Robes depend on us getting quick ptb but that's not so often these days

That was my point though, nearly every carry Walmsly makes is a quick ptb and I was worried that Roby would kill us out of dummy half but it never materialised
IMO he needs to change his game to remain a top hooker, much like Mcguire did for us when his pace went, he should focus on being a game manager and work to put other people through the gaps that he used to go through himself

| With respect: is this is serious question?
Roby is still one of the top players in the league and is our best player.
141 meters and 44 tackles in the Leeds game. It really annoys me how people just take this lad for granted.

Like I said, I dont see him every week and he may be on average playing as good as ever

| Roby is the last of our worries. He's still a class above every time he plays, IMO.

Untill he breaks down and we realise that he has x years left on a stella contract.
At which point we declare the youngsters unsuitable/not ready , keep Fages in the stand and make a six figure offer to Wakefield for Howarth because he will play for bus fare , to keep us under the cap.

I didn't provide that match stat as the sole reason for why he's still a premier player. You simply cannot quantify someone's influence and class otherwise.
Having said that, Houghton made similar amount of tackles in his last match, but made half the meters Roby made. This was in a match against Wakefield who are half the team that Leeds are.
Roby is integral to the team and nobody will convince me otherwise. Roby was our best player on Friday and looked dangerous. I think you might have mistaken him for someone else.

I think if he hasn't been overtaken he is in the process of being overtaken by Hodgson. Whenever Canberra play the commentators reckon he's the best 9 in their league.

Hodgson in the NRL just proves the difference playing at a high level of intensity in excellent conditions does for a sportsman. We need to get the likes of Ben Currie, Dom Manfriedi and Kalum Watkins playing over there ASAP.

| From a Wire point of view, he would get in every side. Always one of the top 3 players in SL and has been for the past 10 years.
A player who'll be remembered by many generations like the Hanley, Meninga, Long.
