From what I could see some council house chav of a woman (Think of a Dingle, but with a foaming mouth) started shouting at Kyle because yet again our pathetic outside backs had messed up. Kyle seemed to point to the place they messed up and intimate that it wasn't his problem.

A few hundred then started booing him and I left. If anything happened after that I don't know, but I doubt it as most had left. Up to the last minute there had been very little booing or abuse of Kyle, but a growing impatience as he again didn't take the line on at all.

Quote: Mr. Messy "Heard a few reports of Kyle and the Crowd not getting on at the end, what's gone on anyone confirm?'"

I was there. There are allegations that he stuck two fingers up at the crowd in response to someone's comment but I didn't see that happen. There was sporadic shouting at him to start playing, sporadic booing (although some of that was towards the ref who was on a totally different planet) and some people were venting their frustration at the person who is supposed to be creating and organising the attack but who in fact took on the line only twice, couldn't kick to save his life, threw passes with red crosses on all evening and hung his inexperienced halfback partner out to dry.

But our pack was crap as well. Meli was awful even by his standards. We had no go forward. Jammer was pretending he was a halfback again instead of doing the job he should have. Roby passed to a Quins player and a try was scored.

It was dire across the park.

But Shenton, Gaskell and Lomax all worked their butts off.

Gaskell was awful. Partly due to eastmond been disgraceful but he was still awful.

Quote: Ashy "Gaskell was awful. Partly due to eastmond been disgraceful but he was still awful.'"

Gaskell has been thrown in at the deepend due to the lack of Pryce and the lack of investment by the club in a decent squad. However, he wasn't awful. He made three awful mistakes but the rest of the team should have covered his back by defending. Kyle Eastmond had Longy and then Pryce to help him blend into the team. In fact, I can't remember the last time we stuck a 20 year old in the halfback position without having an experienced partner beside him to guide him and cover for him.

I feel really sorry for Gaskell and I hope this season isn't runining his confidence. He tried really hard to change things around - was probably too anxious.

While I agree that Kyle should have gone about his move to union in a better way but also the club should never have let this carry on when the season started. It should have been put to bed before pre season.

Isn't it the same with jammer? He's not signed a new deal, he stayed behind in oz after the four nations to talk to a number of NRL clubs, he's keeping the club hanging on, he's also playing his worst rugby in a saints shirts but nobody booing him or calling for him to go.

At least Leon Pryce has ended speculation on his part that he wants to stay at saints until he retires and also roby ended speculation by signing pretty quick.

The club should have had all this done and dusted before the season started.

Gaskell worked hard in a team lacking cohesion. He tried to create some second phase attack but every time it broke down due to players mis reading the plays. Once Pyrce comes back into the team Gaskell should be 7 with Pyrce at 6.

If they want to check Kyle Eastmonds commitment, they should stick him at full back, that way he will be forced to take the line on. If he fails then Simmons should diiselect him.

People are beginning to notice and to comment. It's just that Jammer has earned a lot of respect at the club due to his commitment and performances. He has achieved an awful lot already. So, rightly, fans are giving him greater leeway than Kyle.

Sorry but that is no excuse for jammer who has been very poor this year by his standards.

What he's achieved in the past should have no bearing on the fact he's doing the same thing as Kyle.

I agree entirely and I actually found myself getting annoyed with him at the match last night. We needed our senior players to stand up. But they didn't.

I think the problem is the senior players we have are not leaders anymore. Longy, scully, KC, joynt was great leaders but this team IMO don't have one.

Graham works his socks off but IMO he ain't a proper captain and same goes for wello.

It also seems Royce lacks any leadership.

Quote: Ashy "Gaskell was awful. Partly due to eastmond been disgraceful but he was still awful.'"

Rubbish. Gaskell made a couple of bad errors, a kick out of the full and a pass into touch towards the end, but he worked hard, ghosted through early on (when we were 10-0 down and after Flanders remarkeable tackle to win a drop out) which we could have scored form if the support had been there, put Meli in with a nice long pass, had a hand in the build up to Graham's try and put Moore in once for it to be pulled back for a marginal forward pass. He was not the problem.

Given his half back partner spend the first 60 mins primerly hanging out in the centre, i reckon it was a pretty good show for a guy in still in his first few appearences. A partnership of Gaskell and Leon would be fine for me.

I was also happy with Lomax's performance tonight. Apart from Clubbs try (which I was about as far away from as possible, so couldn't say for sure whether he was tackled or not), Lomax marshalled him very well and although got limited ball, managed to make at least one break towards the end.

There seem to be a lot of parallels to the time when Wigan lost Faz here. Lack of leadership, poor play, apathetic team, new coach, potential star leaving for RU and booing fans. I can't help think that being homeless doesn't help much either.
