| Quote: bewareshadows "I think 7900 beats any previous season ticket sales if the statement is accurate.
9000+ would be good, I can't remember what all the quotes where, for what % the likes of Warrington and co got added to their average attendance for a new stadium. I think it was somewhere between 10-20%. With season ticket sales of 9000+ Saints would seam to fall into a similar % increase.
A good first season at home and you could probably grow that number to 11 or 12k in 3 or 4 years.'"
I think the percentage for dire was much higher. They had terrible attendance figures at wilderspool; some matches were sub 4000 not too many years ago.

| Quote: Donkey OTay "As of today Saints had sold 7900 season tickets with about 500 to 600 from last year who have not yet renewed. You've got to imagine most of them will. Brand new ST sales are still going steady with still half a dozen a day.
So... I wouldn't be surprised to see close to 9000 by the start of the season..'"
I think we could well end up closer to 9,500 than 9,000, with pre-Xmas pay day looming and prezzies to be bought.

| these questions may have been asked and answered already but i don't have time to trawl through all the posts to see if they have....
has it been announced what price a walk up ticket will be at the new ground? will different stands cost different amounts? will you really be able to change ends at HT?
because of work commitments i tend to only be able to get to half our home games each year. at the moment a season ticket in the west terrace costs £200. assuming it will be about £25 per game for walk ups, a season ticket will be better value so long as i can get to 8/9 games. however, a season ticket will presumably stop me from having the choice of trying the different stands for different matches, whereas if i buy on the day i could sit/stand in a different place each time...
decisions decisions...

Wire never had sub 4000 crowds.
Average attendances:
2000 - 6872 (6th)
2001 - 6356 (7th)
2002 - 6189 (10th)
2003 - 7031 (6th)
2004 - 9890 (8th) (New Stadium) - Increase of 40%.
Hopefully Saints and Salford get a similar boost, both stadiums look great from what I've seen.

indeed, wire's lowest attendance (in the league) was 4011 v bradford in 2001

The whole Warrington had terrible attendances at Wilderspool thing is a myth. We didn't do too bad that year considering how awful we were/the off pitch incidents etc.

| I was talking about average attendance increases. I think the 4k figure for warrington is more about 1 ff matches rather than the season average.
The season average increase is what I was on about and that was just the increase from the stadium.
Interestingly, you can longer get season tickets for the allocated sections online. So maybe they have been taken off to stop all this speculation.

But if you took off the free tickets and the players and coaching staff and the hangers on, you have got to be sub-4000

Let's hope he's right and we get 10,000 season ticket holders, that would be a remarkable achievement and really push the club forwards.

It seams the inside man had his facts right when he said7900I'd be pretty happy with that for this time of year. Especially given the recession. He also makes a decent point about the name being similar to KR as in named after the place. The guy knows his Saints fans and that we a re a bit on the traditional side.
If you can match the previous season averages with just season tickets then it just shows how many people were staying away.

It's illuminating that at KR we would generally get 5000 season ticket holders but already at the new gaff we have secured almost 8000. That tells its own story I reckon. And I know we are continuing to sell season tickets because I stood behind a couple when I bought my friendly ticket last week who were buying one for the first time.
I wonder for just how long KR was a dampner on the commercial potential of Saints?

Its a bit strange as link is the story about the new stadium name only and nothiing about season ticket sales.
Have they changed the story on that web page?
