| Quote: St pete "The concourses being wet is a massive problem! It's a a health and saftey hazard without a doubt and could also be costly for the club in few years time when the slab starts coming up.
Health & saftey - The concourse being wet mashed the floor become very slippy as the finish on the concrete slab is power floated meaning its finished to a very smooth finish which is 99% used for indoor concrete slabs. If the concourse was designed to be outside then it would have a brush finish which makes it less slippy. Obviously water on a smooth concrete finish will result on someone slipping which results in claims.
Possible cost - The concrete used in the concourses is not for outside slabs. The are concrete mixes for inside and outside. That mix is for inside and when water/rain gets on it over the years, the is a good chance is can scrub off and break up as water gets thru and underneath.'"
Thank you for that.

If you truely believe that - you need to give up your ticket and stop watching. I look forward to hearing your comments to Eamon on Thursday when he holds a forum at the "sub standard disgrace" of a stadium he has personally managed to build for us.
Oh no, that's right you won't because you hide behind a keyboard.

Funny how you quote me but then add two words that were entirely absent from the quote you posted. Making stuff up won't actually make it true you know.
I said it was a disgrace, which it was. The concourses are supposed to be inside the stadium, which is why they have walls and doors. However, the great big yawning gap between the wall and the roof allows the elements to come in. In the NW corner the concourse was sopping wet all the way to the bar and the bar staff could feel the rain on their faces. That is a disgrace. The staff at Knowsley Road were better protected (at least the huts had a roof AND walls) and I was always dry under the Pop Side roof. But that could be because there were also walls which went from the floor to the roof.

I would be more than happy to ask McManus about the cladding but I wouldn't do it in front of a room full of people. Unlike some, I do have manners.

Much as eveyone seems to like having a go at you at every opportunity; I have to agree with you on this one SF.
I'm in the north stand and it was very wet and cold. We were sort of "promised" a half way house sort of solution, i.e. to put cladding in the nw and ne corners, but just needed planning consent apparently. This was just into the start of the season and its all gone very quiet and I'm just wondering whether its one which are putting off due to a lack of cash but don't think this is valid after the favourablr re-financing and higher crowds than budgeted for.
I'd have thought a more urgent and cheaper problem to fix is the councourse cladding rather than the gap at the back of the stands?
If we could just finish these important final bits off, we would surely have the best SL stadium; until these problems are fixed I can't honestly say that.

The staff in the conession stands were in standalone huts either behind or at the side of stands. They were if anything less protected than they are now! talk about a revisionist version of history.
So I'm right you are an Internet Warrior - quite happy to talk drivel on the Internet infront of god knows how many people here - but not in front of a room of 200! I dont understand how slagging off the man and his stadium on an internet forum is having manners whilst not having the guts to do it infront of him is????

When have I 'slagged off' (such a peurile term) McManus? That's right: I haven't.

And I said that I WOULD say it to McManus's face. However, I don't aim to embarrass him in public (since he has been the dynamic to achieve the stadium build) by saying it to his face [iin front of 200 people[/i. You may have no qualms about doing that but then IMO you would be rude.

I'm not calling the stadium a disgrace!!!!
YOUR written opinion is that it is a disgrace - I am sure Mr McManus would not be embarrased by a little Internet Warrior trying to belittle such an achievement of building something of this magnitude in this economic environment. I havent been on the Bradford board making comments about a stadium that they would kill to have - You have.
As I thought you have neither the wit nor the capabilities to back up your comments - I am sure Mr McManus is waiting for the question on Thursday because he isnt stupid. I am sure one little question or comment will do nothing the embarrass him - just yourself.

I'm not making anything up.
You are a coward who hides behind a keyboard, who has neither the courage to stand up nor the intelligence to realise that you are beaten.
And the stadium wasnt a disgrace on Friday just as it hasnt been on every occasion I have been this year. It is the BEST THING to happen to this club in many years. if you can't see that, then I'm very sorry.

| I'm sure a good majority of people on this board will attend come rain or shine, cladding or not. However they are the same people who turned up at Knowsley road taking their health in their own hands every time the ball was kicked into the asbestos roofing.
What people are really concerned are about those extra fans the stadium has attracted and whether we can keep them or build on them. If no one says anything about cladding then it would be a fair call for the board to assume it is not an issue and therefore not a priority for next years spending.
If they plan to still install cladding, but there is no cash, simple, they could just say we have spent what we can this year in terms of the stadium. x-millions and although cladding is on a list of to do jobs, it will be next year or the year after before enough revenue has been made by the stadium to pay for this. We the board are letting our wallets have a well deserved breather after 10 continual years of losses. It's now time for the ground to pay back some of those loans and shareholdings and when that has been done we can start to look at the final cladding.
I'd be more than happy with that as an answer from the club, if people are not happy with that, then maybe we can have a fan whip around 'Bradford styleee' and see if we can stump up the cash.
It's the lack of an answer which frustrates as peoples expectations are raised with promises of cladding pre good friday, that then seam to be left hanging, if the club said we think cladding would make no difference to the wind or the puddles then fair enough at least it's an answer.

In true typical saints style they was just praying this problem will go away.
As I've posted in this thread, the is a chance of permanent damage to the floor slab and also it's a health & saftey issue.

I shall bow to your greater building expertise on this. I can only go from what was mentioned in the press and then nothing there after. But if you know your stuff (which you tend to do) then it could be a big insurance job at best, or a big bill at worst.
