| Quote: LyndsayGill "Bit shy when it came to doing his share of the tackling. But very nimble on his feet for a big man. Murphy always used to sign him for whatever team he was coaching at the time, so what do I know.
Yep, and he was a star at the Wire for a few seasons, especially 1974 when we won virtually everything. The famous side-step was even on show at Wembley that year.

| I felt sorry for him, in the end experience told.
Did he go to the same elocution school as Shaun Ainscough?

| I thought he did very well indeed. To come from nowhere, beat two of the big hitters and come within ONE SET of beating Wolfie - who was on absolute top form tonight after struggling badly with his checkouts so far in the tournament - is a magnificent achievement.
I thought Chizzy's nerves got the better of him tonight. If he'd have played today like he played yesterday against O'Shea, he would have wiped the floor with Wolfie.
No disgrace in his loss tonight whatsoever. St Helens can be very proud of this man.

18821_1298880800.jpg
I've always thought of McGuire as a good player, and I wouldn't normally wish injury on any player, but there was a certain hint of poetic justice to that.
Another classic:
You forgot to take off the "Saints Reduction Factor" when calculating the ban.
Standard suspension / Saints Reduction Factor = Actual ban for Saints player.
Therefore (2 / 3) = 0.666
0.666 < 1 therefore actual ban equals "less than 1 match".
Therefore ZERO.
| I've really enjoyed watching his run to the final and i'm glad he did that well because he got me interested in watching the BBC darts again. It's a tough comp to watch epecially in the early rounds because you know all the best players have left to go over to the sky version but I thought Chisnall lit up the tournament.
He just looked too nervous last night to take the title. He looks superb when he falls behind in a match because I think it takes a little expectation away from him and eases the pressure but as soon as he got level or close to he'd fall to bits.
A great effort though and I look forward to watching him on Sky in the future!

| Yeah great effort but i was gutted when he lost. I've never sen anybody throw so many chanches away. At one point when it was 5-4 to wolfie, chizzy had the chance the win about 6 legs in a row but failed to deliver.
Hopefully he starts hitting them doubles and stops getting off to a slow start.

| The thing is, though, he WAS hitting the doubles and getting some fabulous checkouts in previous rounds. The final was not one of his better games.
Conversely, Wolfie was shocking in his semi. I said at the time that if they both played in the final the same way that they played their semis, Chizzy would have wiped the floor with him.
Sadly, it didn't happen. I'm sure it will come with experience. Many are touting him as a future PDC player as well.

There are no pies left in this van overnight!: |

| Quote: Rogues Gallery "John Walsh was my favourite all time Saints player, he oozed class. Such a pity that he retired so young.
Frank Wilson was great bloke. He lived in Billinge and would often come down and have a game of football with us on Banks Park.
As the majority of us were Wigan fans we used to give him some stick, but he took it in the manner given.
He did get his own back however when Saints beat Wigan 23 -0 at Central Park in a Lancashire Cup game at Central Park, and he really rubbed it in at our next kick about.
He was very quick, and a good all-round athlete.'"
Do you know whether Frank is still alive? I read in one of the RL books that he had cancer.
