| Just watched highlights of the game he played before on youtube (search: 'NRL 2013 Round 7 Highlights: Panthers V Eels' if you're interested)
Kicking looked very good, both long and short: he kicked a 40/20 and set up a try with a short kick.
Passing looked good and put a couple of tries on a plate for his team.
If he is consistent in this (which I do not think he is given some of the comments) then I'd be chuffed for us to get him!

| From what I've seen he's a good goal kicker and has a good in-play kicking game, which is exactly what we need. I'll believe it when I see it though if Nosey Parker's said it!

Who would you suggest we go for then in this country?

There are no OOC scrum halves in Super League worth looking at in my opinion. We might have had some flops from the NRL, but we've also had Lyon, Hooper, Soliola, Albert, Puletua, Fairleigh, Talau, Iro, Hoppe...

Perry's been a real dissapointment, but Boof and Hohaia were poor moves by the club, rather than a refelection on NRL imports in general IMO.
If we're signing a half to play half back, we should be in good stead, although the spectre of Brett Seymour to Hull will make me worry until I see any signing actually play.'"
Walsh looks ok from that youtube link , seem to be the general we need in the middle - what we really need to do though is not just go and buy one but start looking for the one after and do some succession planning or he'll come over do great then clear off back to the NRL on a fat contract then leave us buggered again.
As for Seymour , he has the talent but his off field issues have just been too much.

The NRL is the premier competition in the world. We've just picked a few bad ones recently but we've picked plenty of brilliant ones down the years.

What was the first reaction when you read the name.
Yes please or I just hope he's not another Hohaia?

I've posted similar on Redvee just. I've seen little of Walsh to comment (although judging by a clip posted on redvee he does show signs of being an actual half back - kicking game and passing game) but when Eastmond announced he was leaving we were linked with lots of names and ended with Hohaia so until we announce something I'm not getting my hopes up too much.

The latter was my first reaction!
While we may have had some good players from the NRL previously - and of course we have - I've lost a bit of confidence in the club's ability to be discerning now.

Although that article is over a year old it does give pause for thought. Looks good on the youtube video, but I'm not sure we could offer him enough to come over.

I've never heard of him but from what I've read about him, it looks like another disaster. I just hope McManus doesn't give him a 4 year deal like he did with Lance.

What is so bad in that article to make you think he'd be a disaster?
