I'd definitely play Soliola in the pack, but we should not be going into a full season with Flannery as our centre. He did a decent job for a while, but he got found out against centres with good feet and a bit of pace. King (I think) had him on toast. My first choice would be Wheeler. If/when he's injured I'd put Soliola at centre, put Puletua at second row and use Clough as a prop from the bench.

Did we decide what Armstrong was doing this year - is he on dual registration? Leigh rings a bell, but I may have dreamt it.

Good. Given his try scoring feats last year in the U20s, some tougher footy playing 1st team for Leigh should let us know whether he's up to it in other areas and hopefully kick on. If he makes a fist of it there and Wheeler continues to struggle for fitness, it could well be a similar story as Emmit last year - boy can't get 1st team action, goes on loan to Leigh, gets recalled and turns out to be better than what we have, contract expires, signs for cas......oh wait.
It will be interesting to see both his and Frodsham's progress this year. I'll try and take in the Leigh v Widnes games if they're both playing.

Actually I think it's quite a good idea to have back up for the half backs, don't you?
Even at U20 level.

I agree, flannery did a awesome job when he played centre but IMO he ain't a fulltime solution to our centre a problem. He does ok with the ball in hand while centre but looks out of his depth when he comes up against a centre with good feet like gleeson took him apart at the DW.
I'd go with wheeler to start.

I agree to a degree if he has lost some weight and the I'm on £75K attitude.
Given we have Meli for 2 years I think he looks the best bet at centre,
(Still can't believe he has been signed).
However that leaves the problem of a lack of wingers.

| In my opinion we still need a centre, and a forward, so I'd go with :
Wellens
Gardner
Shenton
Meli
Foster
Pryce
Eastmond
Perry
Moore
Graham
Soliola
Flannary
Wilkin
Roby
Clough
LMS
Puletua

Stupid idea. It would be better to have no back up and use a combination of 2nd rowers / utility players so you have an excuse when you don't win anything

18821_1298880800.jpg
I've always thought of McGuire as a good player, and I wouldn't normally wish injury on any player, but there was a certain hint of poetic justice to that.
Another classic:
You forgot to take off the "Saints Reduction Factor" when calculating the ban.
Standard suspension / Saints Reduction Factor = Actual ban for Saints player.
Therefore (2 / 3) = 0.666
0.666 < 1 therefore actual ban equals "less than 1 match".
Therefore ZERO.
