| While Cunningham is the one who has been sacrificed. I feel the blame for this has to fall at the hands of the clubs senior management.
Saints have been excellent in their player academy set up, however they have been woefully inadequate in making long term provision to develop future coaches in house.
KC was thrown in at the deep end. I recollect saying when he was appointed that we needed to be patient and not expect miracles. I suspect the experience has been somewhat humbling for KC as he took the job feeling very confident in his own ability. However that has proven not to be the case. At times recently i got the impression he had realised that he was in way over his head, but was trying to battle through it.
I hope KC can take a step back like Powell did , take on a lower championship role and then work his way through the system. In 5 to 10 years time he might become a top line coach.
From Saints point of view i hope they learn that you cant just stick a playing legend behind a desk and expect them to produce coaching miracles. Coaches are made not born.

'Of'? You mean 'have'?
In my view this is one of the poorest aspects to today. No way should Long and Lolesi still be in post and the very fact that they are suggests to me that the next appointment will be a safe, insular thinking one, more intent on protecting the positions of the few rather than the clear out everyone knows we really need. Why not just put Derek Traynor in charge for the interim?
I said from day 1 that Keiron was never a coach and he isn't. That doesn't mean I don't still hold him in the highest regard from his legacy as a player but the person responsible for this whole bloody mess is McManus. His sheer obstinacy is becoming the biggest barrier to this Club ever becoming successful again and he's riding on the back of his, albeit undoubted, achievement with the Stadium. He needs to re-evaluate how he does his business because I for one am becoming well cheesed off with his arrogant, self satisfied, better than thou approach. His record in appointing coaches is, with only a couple of exceptions, bloody awful and if anyone else in his organisation demonstrated that repeated lack of competence and kept doing it he'd fire them.
There's an oft used saying in business circles in that 'there's nothing more dangerous than the man who thinks he's good at something, yet quite plainly isn't'.

| Sts should be on the phone to the likes of Wayne Bennett/Gus Gould to identify the next Maguire/Robinson. After the success they've had on becoming head coaches in the NRL (and Brown seems to be doing an OK job on a shoestring budget at the Knights), a head coach gig in SL might be seen as a genuine stepping stone to the NRL. As opposed to the past when most Aussie coaches were of the failed variety.
If you want entertainment BTW, the Walker brothers at Ipswich would be the way to go.

I'm not going ott here when I say we are probably the most boring club in English pro rugby. I hate watching us these days, it's just so so boring.
I still feel sad for KC tho as he's been at the club a long long time and he's still a legend in my eyes.'"

Could ov been worse (see what I did there?)
I think you're doing Eammon a massive disservice if you think the only thing he achieved is the new stadium. Look a bit further back to the fact that he saved the club from certain extinction and took us to being the most successful club of the super league era. For long periods he was bankrolling the club from his own pocket while we were losing money hand over fist. Clearly we're in a bad position currently but slagging off the man who is responsible for the fact the club even exists is a bit harsh. He's a very successful business man and has made a huge amount of money, quite a bit more than either of us I suspect, so he clearly is good at something.
I've worked in a lot of businesses for a long time and I've never heard anyone use your oft used saying.
Personally, while I wanted KC out I'm not happy with who's currently in charge and I think the fact that they've left it like that means that they can appoint someone if the right person comes forward; I'd be surprised if they wait until the end of the season.

| After reading up on, and watching clips of, I think we should chuck the money at the Walker brothers. Some of their footy is brilliant.
