I've not even looked at the squad but obviously Walsh in the halves with Hohaia or wheeler would be the obvious pairing (is Percy back ? ).
Wello can't ball handle, he couldn't do it as 19yr old and can't do it now. He's not a ball player.

Why wouldn't you have Walsh at 1st receiver?

Walsh is far better at second reciever, more space and more options (in theory) - these days first receivers job is to get the ball away from the ruck,,,
I must profess I did forget about wheeler though!

I take it that question is for magic superbeetle?
I've no problem with Walsh at first receiver but I get what superbeetle is getting at. He wants Walsh wider so he's the player giving the money shot passes which in theory is good but with wello/Wilkin/Hohaia/wheeler in at 1st receiver means that by the time we hit Walsh he'd be snotted as none have quick hands or quick minded.

Yeah, it was. I like Walsh at 1st receiver where he can have a more dominant role in the side and get good, clean service to the likes of Lomax.

Walsh(1st reciever) to lomax(3rd pivot) requires a middle man (so far this season it's usually been hohaia) - as st.pete says, getting Walsh into positions where the money ball is on is our best chance this week imo, rather than long sweeping across field moves (were far too disjointed at the moment, and missing far too many)
Walsh has shown he can exploit space, so second pivot is a great place to have him (assuming someone can provide him with clean, quick ball throughout the game), as well as control a game from there - there's going to be a lot on his shoulders tomorrow, but I suppose that's what we brought him in for...

Yep. But he won't be able to do too much if the forwards take another day off and people do dumb stuff like throw passes to nobody.

Or can't get us out our 20 meter zone which is pretty common now.

| I thought Wello had a fine game. Incidentally, Walsh looked pretty good at 1st receiver as well.
