Wire v Hudds was a top of the table clash so would have been much more of a draw. The conditions at LP were Baltic to be fair. Mind you 5300 at some grounds would be about 3 times the average.

Tis like that in Warrington though. The town centre can be almost snow free but the outskirts can be really bad. I've seen worse in Warrington and it wasn't as bad as St Helens, not within an hour of kick off anyway.

I'm a season ticket holder as are the 2 people I normally go with and we didnt go. We didnt fancy getting stuck if things got worse and tbh we didnt fancy being frozen sat there. Radio and nice warm house won

I travelled to and from Cinnamon Brow (Wireland) to LP on Friday evening so feel qualified to comment on the conditions in the respective places.
Conditions were definitely a lot worse in St Helens. It was snowing quite heavily when I left at 6.40pm, but was not reallly sticking. The snow got gradually heavier and amounts on the ground deeper the nearer you got to St Helens, appreciably so from Burtonwood. Whilst the stadium surrounds were clear, approach roads and footpaths had about 1" of snow, which more than doubled over the course of the game. Return journey was a little dodgy until the Winwick side of Burtonwood, when once again conditions improved markedly.

I live in Warrington and have several friends who went the game - they said it was fine (not literally obviously) and nothing like this:

There was a time when Saints used to mock Warrington because a) we could never beat you and b) we didn't win trophies. Now you can't mock Warrington for that you're reduced to waving willies about having more snow. I almost wish SC wasn't still banned...

There's still plenty to mock Dire with , like how many times have you won super league? or for that matter when was the last time you were champions full stop? Also there's quite a bit of mileage in some ageist jokes

Yes it did,it just snowed heavier in St Helens.Looking at the highlights of each match doesn't take a genius to work that out.
