That didn't help, but for me the crucial decisions were the ones in the set of six Saints had leading up to Warrington getting a penalty. As Saints ran it out of their half, there were three PTB's in a row where the leg was lifted, preventing a quick PTB. Anyone of them could and should have been penalised. None were, Saints kicked on the 6th, Warrington got a penalty two PTB's later, marched downfield and scored. That was the turning point for me.

Watch it again. Who actually was physically obstructed? No-one changed their direction of running, no-one was physically touched.

It was as clear an obstruction as you can get and stopped Lomax impacting on Waterhouse as he intended. It wouldn't have changed the outcome though, but it doesn't stop it being the wrong decision.

Well said Saints Fan. Much as I wanted Saints to win, they were beaten tonight by a better team and not by refereeing decisions. For everyone's sake I hope Wire can put one over on Leeds next week.

The video referee was just following instructions from on high to stop another Saints/Leeds final at all costs - you can't really blame him for doing what he's ordered to do to earn a crust. Frankly I was amazed he allowed Makinson's try as it looked like he dropped it all day long to me - I suspect words were had with him at half time to cut it out for the second half. Ultimately the officials didn't need to have been briefed anyway as we were just outclassed the second half and were soundly beaten once Wire started motoring. C'est la vie.

I'd have given the makinson one, but I though Meli brushed a mm of the line on his try.
