Ok. I wasn't sure about Moore. But I know Wheeler and Eastmond had their debuts under Anderson. What about Matty Smith and Ste Tyrer? I seem to think they had their debuts under Anderson but I might have my timeframes muddle up again.

I think you've missed the point I'm trying to make, potter has no choice but to pick young lads. Wheeler is our 1st choice centre, eastmond is our 1st choice scrumhalf, scot Moore and Paul clough is in our 1st choice 17 every week and likes of dixon and ashurst are just on brink of regular 17 squad of players.
Anderson didn't even pick fozzard and vinnie Anderson when they was in there pomp in our grand final and challenge cup 17!
No doubts about it, basil and Anderson had far better squad of players than potter.
And ski, that is the gospel of pete or to you it's st pete

To a degree I agree with you but (a) you didn't seem to be saying that in your previous post (you seemed to be saying that neither Basil nor Anderson had integrated youngsters), and (b) Anderson only really had a better squad in 2006. He made a better job performance wise of what he had than Potter has (so far anyway) and he didn't have the injuries from 2006 to 2008 that we have had since Potter arrived.

Basil didn't like bringing in youngsters, when we had injuries he brought in 2nd rate crap like whittle, southern, DES Clarke and few others. He could have give the kids a go but maybe he felt they wasn't ready which is fair enough.
At no point in any post have I said Anderson didn't bring the kids in, to be honest he didn't need to as our squad was very very good.
Think you've got wrong end of the stick again as (a) I never said Anderson didn't bring kids thru (b) I think Anderson is much better coach than potter and basil yet you seem to think I don't rate Anderson.

When were Saints classed as the best youth team in Superleague?

Well we've brought through 3 men of steel (including the country's finest prop), a player voted SL's greatest ever, the first 7 to look like he might be world class in a generation, and our kids smashed the champions rather than getting beaten at home by the bottom side - we're doing OK thanks.

If rumours are led to be believed then Leeds, Huddersfield, Saints, Bradford and Catalans will be looking for new coaches for next season.

Judging on last Years Academy Grand final I wouldn't say that we have the best Youth system around. Wigan's team were much the better side. Yes, we have a good youth system, but I think Wigan would lay a claim to having the best one around unfortunately.
