| Eamonn, I think is a vital inclusion. Without his help, we would not have such a prosperous future to look forward to.

| Quote: The Chair Maker "Ive highlighted who i agree and disagree with.
Notable missing
Alan Prescott - one of the greatest RL players of all time. Prescott is a legend in the UK and Australia. This man won the ashes while playing with a broken arm, while captaining GB. He captained the Saints team that won its first challenge cup winning the lance todd in the process. The guy is a RL immortal, to not have him in is a disgrace.
He was a brilliant ball playing forward, who had also been a schoolboy sprint champion. Over 400 appearances for Saints. 31 GB appearances, (most be a Saints player).
Herman the German - Founder of Saints. Without him it would never have began.
George Nicholls- just read Dave Dooleys biograpphy
I added Prescott already and Nicholls/Rhodes will most likely make it at the behest of cooper.
I'm pretty sure no photographs of Douglas Herman exist and there is debate that he was actually French.

| I also think that the flag is too heavily weighted in favour of players since the 1980's with little to show for Pre ww2.
Granted Saints had little success prior to ww2 however we still had a few great players eg Jack Arkwright, Alf Ellaby, les Fairclough,William Briers
The legendary 1960's sides also seem under represented. Remember these were the best players in the world, not merely good club players as the current generation are.
This is a list of top 10 appearances at Saints
Kel Coslett
William Briers
Billy Benyon
Eric Chisnall
Dougie Greenall
les Jones
George Lewis
John Mantle
Keiron Cunningham
Tom Van Vollenhoven
All these should be on the list

| If Cooper is to be replaced I would vote for Rhodes to replace him. I would also suggest that Haggerty is removed and repalced with George Nicholls. I loved watching Roy play but I think we tend to look back with rose-tinted specs a bit and we shouldn't forget his brainfarts. Whole hearted, yes, but not a 'Great' for my money.

Find me a picture of KR you could make look remotely artist and wouldnt't clutter it up and we could use it as a background.

you need to upload it to somewhere like photobucket then post the image location inside the img tags.

That isn't a fair comparison.

I said, if you can find one we can make artistic, we'll look at it. If it is already hosted online, just copy the image location, and then paste the image location here.

Les Jones might have made a lot of appearances but he wasn't a legend for me.

| I posted this on redvee last night following some things posted there and i think it works as a response to some of the posts/opinions here including Chair's about a slight bias toward certain generations.
Quote: "I think the danger we have with players being added or omitted is that we end up with the majority of them being from a) the sixties/early-mid 70's and b) the late 90's/ early 00's. Of course this is understandable as these periods were probably our most successful, but lets not forget the periods in between when despite a lack of dominance we still managed to compete and win trophies, and there are players of that period that deserve to be held in equally high esteem be it as captains of the club, high points scorers, or players who played the majority if not all of their career at the club etc.
The 'Legend' status is undoubtably subjective at the best of times and whilst players like Newlove brought something special to the sides they played in i'd suggest their status as 'fans favourites' doesn't necessarily afford them Legendary status at the club. '"
I think it is much easier for us to look back at players like Newlove who played as part of a succesful team and perhaps put a gloss on our memories of them as a result of the team's achievements during their tenure, much in the same way that the youngest generation of Saints fans are doing with Jamie Lyon right now. These players were undoubtedly terrific, stand-out players in their sides who gave a great service to the red vee during but to include them in such lists in my opinion does a disservice to players like Alan Hunte, Anthony Sullivan, and Paul Loughlin who whilst not costing world record fees or being media darlings contributed no less (and often more in terms of points, tries and appearances and more) to the Saints' cause.
