Yeah. I have said it earlier many times - really good coaches change a side's performance quickly and with longevity. Bennett with St George, Smith at Warrington and Maguire at Wigan (not that either of them compare to Bennett but it makes the point). Wigan will miss him - he's excellent and I'll be interested to see how they go next year.
Wish we'd found him or one like him.

Saintsfan is correct in the fact that Wigan dont play much off the cuff rugby but what they do play is well drilled rugby that's very effective.
In attack, their runners creates options which defences struggle to deal with which all comes from good coaching and lots of hard work and practice.
Wigan are a very well coached team both in attack and in defence which is a credit to their coach.

Spot on, we do play a few structured attacks and even the Wigan fans know which attack is for which side. But you try and stop it! we did the same play for Liams match winning try against you at the DW as we have all season and you could not stop it, We did it today! We did our left field attack at least 3 times today and Wire struggled with it every time.

I've never denied its effectiveness. It's just so predictable to watch. Predictable equates to boring in my book of personal preferences. And we haven't even touched on their three man in tackling technique (which does have the bonus of knackering them, leaving a window of opportunity for the teams who are awake).

| Are Wigan the only team to use three tacklers?

| Wigan's major weakness appears to be their habit of getting a 20 odd point lead and then going to sleep. Is it to do with their extra work in the tackle tiring them out? Hasn't cost the dear yet but may come back to bite them. Sadly the saints players on twitter yesterday were saying game over at 22 -0, whatever happened to their never say die attitude? Joynt must be turning in his grave

To be fair, it was not Saints facing that lead. It's one thing to think you can't do it, to thinking they can't do it.

We are a broad church.
Ever heard the phrase, I can not agree with what you say but I'll defend your right to say it.
She is hardly saying anything that goes against the rules of the forum, she is just saying Wigan are predictable and boring. She maybe wrong but there are no rules for being wrong, and being wrong is a matter of opinion not straight fact in this case.
However it is quite easy to make the arguement that what Roby does is predictable, does not mean it's easy to stop. Just as what Tomkins does is predictable but not easy to stop.
Neither would I say predictable is boring. But each to their own.

| It's not a question of what you say, it's often a cse of the way in which it is said.
I too fully agree with all being able to contribute; when that comes down to unwarranted insults, childish comments etc, then I have a problem.
Chaqu'un a son gout so they say.........

| I though Wire played quite well and would of beat every other super league side but Wigan play in spells when they suffocate you when you have the ball and create gaps when they have it. They control the PTB better than anyside I've seen and that wins them penalties or allows the AHB to get easy yards whilst your blowing out of your backsides trying to get back.
If you can stay in the game after the first 25 mins and try to expose Charnleys poor defence And then win the floor on contact you may have a chance but they are good to watch in defence and attack

Another pathetic response.
It's that predictable that not many teams can stop it, they are current champions, they are top of the league and in the semi of the challenge cup. If that's from playing predictable rugby then all the other coaches and players ain't doing their jobs right.
They might use the same moves but it's the runners that gives them options that's causing the defending team problems.
It's the same With roby, every man and his dog knows he's going to run from acting half and teams will work on trying to stop this but not many can, it's predictable but effective just like wigans play.
In other words my ex sweetie, it works!
I find it strange you say all tomkins does is his jinking run, that's some jinking run that teams can't stop! It's like saying all Paul newlove did was step off his left, all Martin offiah did was run round people etc

Some of warringtons tackling was shocking at times, especially carvel who missed two tackle which lead to Wigan scoring twice.
If Warrington want to be real contenders for the grand final they need handle being under pressure in defence. They fell apart when Wigan put them under pressure.
