Agree with most of this, but still having looked at forthcoming fixtures for the pies, I can't see anyone beating them for at least the next seven games (salford, quins, hudds x2, wrexham, cas,wakey). Only hudds have any real potential for an upset there. However, I think they will get all 14 points and a big increase in PD.

Let's hope that Kear's and Agar's comments about the holding down tactics have some effect on how they are reffed. Is that a pig flying across my window?

Back on topic, I don't think there's a lot of difference between any teams and their tackling techniques / hands-in / lying-on.

There's a few instances where penalties have been given somewhat harshly, and times where penalties haven't followed where they should.

Wigan's tactics were within the rules and they dominated every aspect of play. I thought Thaler had a poor game with respect to both sides. He cained Wigan for some dubious off-sides and St's for some dubious interference.
Saints got away with their usual quota of a dozen forward passes (I dont think James Graham passed one back all day)
The sending off of Roberts was also wrong IMO - As soon as Leon Pryce touched the ball with his foot, Roberts went for him as he is perfectly intitled to do.

The ref letting a team away with something doesn't make it legal.
For example....

On three seperate occasions the ref called 'held' in 'standing' tackles. I.E. three or four Wigan defenders holding a Saints player with the ball stop dead still. All fine. However, the Wigan defenders then wrestled the Saints player to the ground and on to his back. Note, this is after the ref called held. Completely illegal but the ref let it go three times.
The Wigan players then all turn to look at the ref and wait for him to shout moooove.

Like I say, just because a ref let's something go doesn't make it legal.

The real question is... - do we want to watch rugby or do we want to watch wrestling?

If any of the Tomkins turn out to be even half as great as Cunningham they will have done a good job.
