Just watched the highlights from the game, and I am sure the in goal judge got the call wrong for Lomax`s try (no try). Watched it frame by frame and the ball was at best on the line.

Thought we were good today in all honesty, not a bad performance at all, just get the discipline sorted and a bit more consistency in attack/defence and we will be fine. Good following from our lot, and we did all the singing, and got behind them. Not a bad result to lose by a point at Hudds, spesh after losing Roby, I'm happy with that performance to be honest. Roll on next week and lets smash Hull. Keep the faith icon_biggrin.gif

Quote: bewareshadows "I maybe behind the times but you obviously can't read. I said for all the talk.

If you bother to look at the pre-match thread on the huddersfield game, you will see how all the talk is about the huddersfield pack going to dominate our pack and smash our team by 20/30 points. ( my response was to that pre-match talk).

I am right though we gave away far too many penalties and that is what gave Huddersfield the territory they lacked from the pack.

As for it being the coaches fault for holding down, yes there was holding down, but also late flops, head high shots etc. I actually enjoyed the game, I thought it was defensively strong from both teams and both teams struggled to break down strong defence.

It was a one point ball game, we fell on the wrong side of it away from home. But my god the defence was 100% better than last week, if we can keep that D up then the results will come. If it was a one off then we will be back to square one.

Also anyone going to batter Ade for the dropped ball or Makinson for letting 3 in down his side, or is that reserved for foster. I don't think we should crucify them but neither do I think that foster is the spawn of satan.

ps with foster kicking we may have won, all if's and but's.'"

im not sure why considering we lost griffin our 2 main forwards are still on the injury list and mason only just back last week plus larne is still fighting for fitness. but not all doom n gloom for saints having lost the players saints have in last few seasons was never gonna be quick fix like us got alot of young players and gottagive them time. didnt see anyone complain bwt lomax last season when you got to the grand final

Roby is a 13 IMO, not a 9 though.

Huddersfield back row three were
chan
lawrence (converted centre)
brown (converted stand off)

props Crabtree and the vastly inexperienced Adam Walker

the interchage forwards were Faiumu (converted hooker) Gilmour and Patrick (not the biggest forward)

So we had nothing that even clsoely resembled a big pack and even when we get some players back will have one of the smaller packs in SL.

Serious question...how on earth can you tell from the highlights?!

At the end of the day the goal judge had a difficult call and he had a much better view than you, I or the cameras

He clearlys scored it as this photo from the St.Helens star shows. Outstanding decision from the ingoal judge. You can see from this pic that the ref is unsighted.
