| Could have been worse. But you can see the big gaps in the squad and in our skill set which we have after 3 years of KC's one-dimensional rugby.
New coach has got a huge rebuilding job.

| Morgan wasn't brilliant, but him going off injured completely disrupted the right edge in defence and Wigan continued to target it with much more success. They went that way most of the game and why wouldn't they? Swift was on the right for the first time in a long time, maybe ever. It also meant they'd target Smith as he defended that side. As soon as Morgan went off that side fell to pieces.
If he's ruled out on Monday then I hope Fleming or Wellington come in. If Lomax is back then maybe we could see Tommy go to centre.

| There's a question over whether Lomax is still a plus for us. I watched the Huddersfield highlights, and I reckon I could beat JL in a foot race now.

While I didn't see the Huddersfield game, I think today showed Makinson is only a stand in at fullback. Pacey and a good catcher but can't provide the killer pass like Lomax can, and his positioning needs a lot of work. If you could combine the two players you'd have a brilliant fullback!

I would like to see Makinson at centre if Morgan is injured and Lomax is fit. Makinson was a natural centre before he was shifted out on the wing.

That's exactly why Tommy isn't a fullback. Great in defence, brave, good on kicks but most modern fullbacks provide killer passes as you said.

Hopefully Wellington gets a start next time, cannot be as bad as Morgan.

I would prefer Fleming to be honest. He has proven to be capable at SL level.

There is nothing in Makinson's handling skills that make him look anything like a natural centre.

There's nothing in Morgan's skills that make him look like a very well paid Australian rugby player. Tommy is an honest player that gives his all, Morgan appears to be on holiday!

| If he's on holiday he'll be asking the travel company for his money back. Still looks utterly miserable.

| I'm still willing to give Morgan time. Has there been more than two games in a row that he's had the same winger and second row to work with ? Lms and Peyroux both starved him of ball. Give Long a few weeks to work on attack and keep Wilkin as right second row and i think we see a different player. I've seen people post that he had the chance to put Swift away and maybe he did. But counter that with Percival having a clear chance to put Grace away and not doing so.

| Quote: Roy Haggerty "Fages making a break, and having no support at all, is a fantastic illustration of what Cunningham's coaching did for us.
It's been 3 years since Saints players expected breaks. So not one of them was backing up or running a line just in case. Tragic. Absolutely tragic.'"
Not seen a replay but feel sure the player immediately alongside fages was impeded by/collided with a pie. Agree its not been in our DNA however, to expect a break and therefore provide support.

For the life of me I cannot fathom out what Ryan Morgan has to do with Makinson's lack of ability.
