Just think, we could have Greenwood, walsh and Turner as our edge defence

We did warn you. Excellent player on his day. His head is not always right. Only half an excellent season with us which means he played at top of his game for a quarter of the time.

Burns was very good for start of the year. He really had us ticking over. Even when he's not at his best he brings a very competitive and aggressive edge to the team that we missed last year.
He's not been the same since Green caved his face in but he's a great competitor and very sore loser. He'd play with a injury if he could and that's the atititude every player should have.

I won't bother to repeat my comments from "6 and 7". You are nothing if not persistent. Playing with an injury can be a fools choice. Many players have aggravated a problem and turned a couple of weeks lay off into 6/7

I'm still not convinced this is a "confidence" issue. I mean, it's a very real possibility. But so is the nightmare scenario that Walsh may never fully recover.

Sometimes players put the team first and hoks their hand up and play. Travis is they type of guy.

| Saints have played for so long now without half backs, that we've developed a dysfunctional way of winning without them, and don't seem to be able to adapt to having a 6 abd 7 again. That said, Wilkin is nowhere near as bad as some would like to make out, and we are struggling to make up the defensive hole that he has left at 7.
Burns and Walsh at Penrith seem to have grown their own reputation, that amounted to little more than they played together there. They weren't Tommy and Long.

I'm not a Saints fan, but it's OK. At least you didn't think I was a Wigan fan

Bang on imo
Apart from conceding 90 points against Leeds this season, our defence has been generally really good and has compensated for a lack of creativity from a 6 & 7.
There's not much Cunningham can do apart from hope that Walsh and Burns switch on together, and the only way that's going to happen is with more game time and that's probably going to mean a few more frustrating games for us lot to watch.

I think it is too late in the season to take this approach. If we want to have any chance of getting anything out of this season then we need to drop Walsh, revert to Wilkin at 7 and go with that until the end of the season. We can't be taking weekly hammerings in the hope that one day Walsh may rediscover his courage.

| Had the one year option been in Saints favour do you think it would have been taken up, particularly if it's true that Saints will now have to pay his full salary?
