My mistake, Grace is eligible for the 19's next year. You are spot on.

Come on, mate, we're at home, still got plenty of threat in our ranks.

| I would be happy to throw some coin to tie down the pair of them.
(Not silly Lomax money)
Better value than paying Roby another £100K under the marquee rule,
no disrespect to him.

| They're both coming along quite nice Celt and showing great potential, as are a number of others in the Academy, that believe it or not, are from the Sthelens area.

| 95% of the time I'm completely against running to the juniors for salvation. Everyone knows the reasons. I don't need to explain them. They are good, solid and soundly thought-out.
HOWEVER, there are those rare, [irare[/i kids who instead of falling apart and having their confidence shattered forever somehow manage to THRIVE. What's more - they then crank it up a notch.
Had we waited until Keiron Cunningham was 20/21 until he made his debut - we'd have lost four of his best years because he was ready to play age 17. Savelio reminds me a lot of Keiron. He's probably three or four years away from full maturity but at his size today he's more than big enough.
Generally speaking, youngsters who exceed the curve are naturally big or fast maturers. But it's not just size and strength. Bobbie Goulding made the Wigan team age 17 not because he was a beast - but rather he was the smartest cookie in the box.
I'm struggling to think of kids who've been promoted early purely because they were quick. Maybe they have. I'm not sure. But I can't imagine they'd last long if they didn't have at least some physicality to back it up. Oh and balls of British Steel.

| Calvin's pace is underestimated. From my knowledge he came second in the welsh indoor championship in the u18 sprints and he was only 16 at the time! The guy has gas, hopefully we will get to see him open up into top gear in games soon to come!

| Hopefully next year Wellington (or fleming) will be mature enough to properly fill the reserve centre role, vacated by Josh Jones. I would also say it won't take an awful lot to displace Matty Dawson from the pecking order, who is (with all due respect) pretty much effort and nothing more.

If Lomax is fit next year then Dawson will have McDonnell in front of him in the backup three-quarter queue as well.

Realistically, unless he proves a REAL star, our roster is too full to keep Quinlan past this year, right?
The more you think about it, the more a 2 year deal for dawson seems a bit strange, doesn't it?

They've also handed debuts to people like Fleming, Ashworth and Bailey.
I'm a big believer in the fact that sometimes in rugby, you need a man and not a boy, but Dawson doesn't offer an awful lot. Nothing against him. he doesn't shirk the load and is never short on commitment, but sometime he looks a bit lost to say the least.

I've not really go high hopes of those 3 you mentioned from the three you have named. Imo the isn't much really in the u19s that could possibly break thru next year.
Grace and Wellington are another season off IMHO. Id say Olly Davies is also another year off. Maybe Morgan Knowles could break thru next year but the Backrow is pretty full at saints at the min.
