| I'm approaching the game from the mind set I had of the late eighties to mid nineties when playing Wigan, in that I expect a very one sided encounter in which Wigan win by 20 to 30 points. As a result its not really about winning but seeing if there are any individual areas that we can match or better them.
A victory for Saints is very unlikely. I struggle to see were we will be able to fashion try scoring opportunities against an aggressive and organised defence.
Wigan will also take out Roby within the first 20 minutes as he is our one threat. Look out for a cannonball or a twist of the ankle like they did to Chris Bridge last night.
Oh and if Saints were to somehow fashion a win I will party like it was 1996

| I never thought we would get here but now we are there.
A one off game where anything can happen. We have beaten them without Walsh this season. No reason why we cannot do it again.
I believe we can win (why wouldn't you) but Wigan are massive favourites

| I honestly fear for us. I just can't see one area that we can win the game. I hope and pray I'm wrong but I can't see anything other than the biggest score in grand final history.
That's not me bagging saints or being negative but me being honest.

Some things are better not said. I feel you are being negative.
I can't imagine that it will be a one sided game. Saints have everything to gain from this Grand Final. Win or lose they will have the experience of the big stage. With the players they have had available they have worked wonders this season and they can only get get better.
I'm sorry Pet but there is to much negative talk about the final.
According to some posters we should give Wigan the trophy now.
This is wrong. Get behind your team and don't even think of losing.

Well said, I only wish it would be a walk in the park for us but I’m sure it will be as much as a walk in the park as it was last night. "THEM" will be well up for it and SW knows it just as much as I do.

Unless wigan totally bottle it I can't see anyway for saints to do it. Warrington, with all their attacking flair struggled to break through wigan's defence. Wigan's pack was unbelievably powerful that first 20 minutes. Warrington were barely getting out of their 20 metres. It was relentless. If wigan start in similiar fashion the game will be over by halftime.

If our pack play as well as they can then its a much stronger pack than Warrington's. In fact, on form we have the best pack in SL. I'm confident we won't lose it in the middle.

They've got a soft underbelly.

Saints strength will be in the pack last 5 out of 6 games they have stood up well. Masoe, Armor, Walmsley, Manu, LMS, Soliola and Roby are pretty decent once they get going, they need to play like they did at the DW with good line speed and in there faces to break up there structure.
Obviously with no recognised half backs we are restricted in the creativity department, its a tall order but not a lost cause, if we start well with a lot of energy that might give confidence as the game progress.
If we sit back and let them run at us they gain field position, we will struggle to get going and make up ground, I'm just hoping its not going to be a "wrestlemania" type of game.

| I don't think anyone should be giving the game to Wigoon just yet, but we will have to be at our very, very best to overcome a very physical, dominant (and occasionally dirty) team.
I'm simply looking forward to attending a major final again watching my team playing there. I will be going with no real expectations, other than to have a good afternoon/evening out and watch a final in front of a hopefully packed Old Trafford. Win or lose I intend to enjoy the day. I'm also really excited about the warm up act too, James, but that's a different thread...
Let's try not to be too negative over the next week. Let's get there in numbers, support the boys from minute 1 to minute 80 and hope for a good final. And let's be honest - after the season we have had with injuries, it's an incredible achievement to finish top, and reach the Grand Final - we should all be very proud of that.
COME ON YOU SAINTS!

Hence why I said if we play to our best and we have a stronger pack "on form."

| Shocked & disappointed with all this negative talk. We've played half the games this season with no half backs. It's not like we lost them a game or two from the end of the season. We've adapted and we're a dangerous side...a side that nilled Cas the other week, a team that turned over a difficult Catalans.
This is not a one sided final. We'll match them on the night. For crying out loud, have a little faith in your team, you know...that team that finished top.
