Don't doubt it - but next year, if he doesn't play/ prove he's over it, whose gonna take him? It's not even like he's wheeler and he's proven if you get him out there he can perform - he's an unknown quantity from the start.
Tbh, this is what I expected after it was announced. Then he got put beside Amor and Masoe for the preseason stuff and built him up, and I thought he might be pushing for a spot.
On the plus side, it gives Richards and co. chance to over take him in priority

What were your expectations of Beaumont based on? He'd only played a handful of games in 6 years for Hull KR, so even their fans have no idea if he's any good.
A daft signing. I'd love to know who had the brain wave and decided it was worth doing.

I had no expectations on how he played. As I said, I had no expectations of him getting close to the squad when it was first announced (it was certainly a head scratcher) - I expected him to be another body (for times like the Easter period) and to play not much more.
Then he got put on the same level as Amor and Masoe during the pre season media events - and brought my expectation up to the level of him being able to fight his way into the team - after all his physical stats (big and heavy!) are as impressive as the other 2 - so maybe we had seen something that others misses due to his injury record - and that we thought we knew how to solve why these injuries kept occurring.
Of course what happened is were yet to see him! That said, given our overall recruitment this year, I'm more than happy to take this one as a duff!

Quote: Carlos Alberto "
Brown revealed that new signing Richard Beaumont is struggling with a groin problem and it's hard to predict when he will make his bow.
"Things aren't going as well as he would like and we would like," he added. "We will keep working away and get to the bottom of it. Ideally he would be playing now; it is the time of the year everyone plays.
"He had a good year last year and have really big hopes for him. At the end of the day its abut him getting better and then getting playing, There is no time frame on him at the moment.

| I,m assuming LMS, Amor and Percival will be playing in the Wigan game that will enable us to rest 3 players ready for the Widnes game.

| Shame about Beaumont, but I was thinking the other day about how disastrous Soliola's first season was with us. Its a distant memory these days.

| See I'm hopeful rather than confident about Friday. It's a massive task but it can be done. And I would pitch our pack up against any teams the way they've performed this year. Our weakness could be the right centre spot and if the halves are found out against a classy outfit.
But
Comments like "I'd rest Roby" will get you beat. Over the years strong Leeds sides have shown us the lack of respect by resting Sinfield against much worse Cas sides and come unstuck. I guarantee you'll not rest anyone, you'll possibly rest a few Easter Monday instead.

This I was going to post the other day when I read the comment of "I'd rest Roby" you must be completely off your rocker
if you do rest him I know we will win you never play as well without him
We will also be watching imo the 2 best hookers in the comp on Friday night in Roby plays Clarke is a beast and is still young and will be England no1 for many years to come. Watch him he will skin you..... as you will see
we have the beast out on the wing who as you will know is like having and extra forward on the pitch with pace to burn and the size of a small house, Swift may have his work cut out I feel he is in for a very busy night.
Syned is playing fantastic for us and Finn can control any game with his kicking as can Walsh for you will be a good battle in the halves unless ofc Wello is in there for you then your doomed... had to have a dig at him there you lot seem to have fun doing it
Our forward pack is as good as any in the league atm check the stats and see for yourself your not going to have it as easy up front as some may think
Don't forget THIS IS A TOP OF THE TABLE CLASH and we are up there with you on merit we are also in very good form and playing some of the best rugby in the league
We also have 1 of the best coaches in the league and if Nathan Brown does decided the NZ warriors are for him then id be very surprised your lot didn't relive us of Darrell (hope not)
To sum up I think we are in for a belter possibly game of the season so far a very tight affair with not a lot of points both teams will be giving there all
Hope you turn up in numbers any idea how many your bringing? the atmosphere as you know is always rocking darn lane Toilets as always are shocking
if you are coming safe trip over and enjoy the game I know I will look forward to seeing you bye bye

The usual were gonna be competitive we swear. The reality is, given the narrow cas pitch and the way you play, the best way to play you is still the same as in previous year: steam roller you with forwards. I've looked at the stats only huby and lynch get anywhere near the saints stats. Are they going to play the full 80?
I think every team we've played so far thought they were gonna run over the top of swift ... Yet to happen. Yes carney is a good player but he's not hit the height of last year (this is coming from reading cas forums) and it leaves the possibility of swift skinning him!
Your spine is much improved and looked impressive this year - however we've been very good at stifling creative players this year just by controlling the ruck.
We had a "top of the table clash" vs Leeds 2 weeks ago with 9 out. The reality is, I would still feel confident so long as 2/3 of lomax Walsh and Roby played - so if we rested Roby (hohaia to 9 - wellens to 6) we should still be looking for a win. I have a feeling we won't play Easter Monday with a weakened side - instead we will rest 3-4 each game over the period.
Oh and btw, Powell won't be at saints any time soon don't worry - Browns ruled him out of NZW.

stats look pretty similar to me I see how you have looked at my post I thought I meant just our forwards for the stats I was talking about entire team stats sorry for the confusion should have started a new paragraph
apart from yellow cards so shows we can tough it out with a man down...
how has carney not hit the heights of last year 10 tries this year...
7 league and 3 in cc

| I really think I've only read one person suggest resting Roby, current form is play him till he burns out.
I'd very much doubt Roby being rested for the Cas match. They are not to be underestimated. We are 7 games into the season and beating Cas will put clear blue water between us. Allowing for a drop off on Easter Monday.
