After watching it back on Sky Plus, I reckon that's the worst contact with the head I have seen in 30 years. Meli is seriously lucky he didn't kill Hall there, the way his head flopped about knocked me sick.

I would expect the most severe punishment possible from the RFL and I would be disappointed personally if he doesn't apologise and if the club don't condemn him for it and discipline him internally before the disciplinary meets.

It was a stupid and desparate challenge, but he is still worth keeping for one more season, alongside your big mate wello.

It was about as bad a challenge as you're likely to see. His only defence is that he wasn't actually trying to kill Hall, and it was gross negligence rather than intent. He might get away with that defence because (a) it was high speed, rather than a head-on-line-'em-up hit; and (b) his previous record is pretty good.

However, it was bad. He'll not be playing for a long time, whether he's dislocated his elbow or not.

Saints need to move on and rebuild the team.

Meli has been a good servant to the club, however we need a fresh start from someone else.

No previous that he has been caught for. Wasn't it Meli that did for Holdsworth earlier this season and Holdsworth is still feeling the effects.
