I think the big plus for Lance is that this was a tough close game. He certainly put himself into the game and made an impact. He turned us around after we had been pummelled for 10 minutes.

That's what we want from a half back is'nt it, not just a halfback who can play behind a dominate pack, but a half who can take control and impact on a game when it's more even.'"

TP is lazy in the backrow and goes missing.

I noticed this in his very first season, if he's in the backrow he's lazy and goes missing, if he's put in a prop he can't go missing as easy.

IMO hes a prop, hes played his best rugby at prop and can be devastating if he get more ball. we've got LMS and clough to give him rests.

We are putting sia on the bench to accomadate TP in the backrow and we lose the all action player that sia is.

I'd even play Laffranchi in backrow before TP.

I Agree TP is far more effective at prop. Saying that I still think Sia will find a natural home at prop icon_biggrin.gif

I posted that sia would end up a prop last season. I still think he's a backrow at the moment tho.

He's added few yards of pace to his game this year and is much faster than I thought he was.

Sia has had very good season.

I don't think he will have to do stuff like that at saints as we've got better depth and better quality of players.

I'll be interested to see how he sees TP, will he be prop or backrow?

If he sees him as a second row, that will see sia, Manu and TP fighting for the secondrow spots.

Could Sia play 13 or will have wilkin as a extra ball player?

Lance was very much improved. It was good to see him playing with a bit of aggression and taking the line on. We still desperately lack a kicking game when him and Lomax play together, though.

We have lance for three more years on what must be a fairly substantial wodger of salary cap, so like him or not we have to get the best out of him. He has shown on a couple of occasions this year that he is a very good player, and never gives less than 100% commitment. We need to play to his strengths, which don't include a kicking game or half backs vision but do have speed and evasiveness. Saints game evolved when long took over from goulding, they were both very different players. Brown wants a half back as a priority, if the best we could hope for was smith then we are better sticking with what we have got.

The difference is that before Long developed into a good ball player he had Martyn to lead the team around the park and do the lion's share of the kicking. Hohaia doesn't have that luxury.

People need to realise that every player from down under does not come into Super League and play well immediately. We have had players in the past who have taken a season to settle in and then become a valuable member of the team. Hohaia has took a while to settle, but with him at stand off and J-Lo at scrum half we have lost only 3 games ( we all know which ones ). He brings something to the team and Lomax plays better with him along side him. It's quite simple to me that he should be our 1st choice stand off unless injured.

Agree completely. Gaskell provides good back up for injurys or as a different option from the bench. But hohaia and lomax should be our half back combination.
