| Quote: theres only one stan wall "A brilliant team performance Dianne? We were something like 20 points up & capitulated!! Lol. - our last try, Wheeler's was a lucky intercept when theyd worked yet another overlap & looked like scoring.
Discipline was an issue under Simmons that cost us in the second half, but the game turn was definietly the worst attempt at diffusing a kick from Foster that culminated in a try followed by him flying out of the line in the next set & costing us 12 points in 2 minutes.'"
No doubt about it, foster failing to take the kick cost us.

Did you seriously not read irony into my statement?

| Jamie needs to decide what he wants to do with his life - Is it Golf, his hairdressers, model or rugby player? If its the latter then he needs to knuckle down and get on with it and drop the rest of the side show until he has retired. I see his tweets, 12 months ago it was all about how he was going to kick the ball at some posts with his grandad, now its about how he will be at the salon talking to customers about their hair.
Don't get me wrong he's allowed to do all those things - its his life - but if he wants to get back into the team I think he needs to put some focus into it.

| Foster clearly cost us the game, 12 points in two minutes when cruising. He was consistently found wanting & isnt good enough. He's done little in the reserves to warrant a recall, infact the likes of Swift & Percival and Ashe show a lot more on a consistent basis and were deserving of call ups ahead of him.
Goal kicking apart he has nothing to offer. Lacks speed, power & size and his confidence was that shot it ended up affecting his goal kicking as well.
Look at what progress Makinson has made. Not out golfing every two minutes or driving round St.Helens in the rain in an open top car, head down working hard & a desire to improve. Goal kicking a further string to his bow.
Dont see that in Foster.

Huh? I don't hear you criticising Jon Wilkin for having his shop! Foster has shown wisdom there that a lot of RL players don't displayI see his tweets, 12 months ago it was all about how he was going to kick the ball at some posts with his grandad, now its about how he will be at the salon talking to customers about their hair.'"
Well, I hardly think playing in the u20s is going to give him a lot to say about the rugby is it? And since he has just opened a business he will want to promote it. Again, a wise move.

Foster was utter rubbish that game, his confidence was very low and the Catalans knew he was the weakest link.
No doubt he will get a place back when we have a few wingers injured, he needs to up his performance at all levels when the opportunity comes his way. More speed and bulk might help his cause.

The whole team was utter rubbish in that game. Well, in the second half anyway.
I do believe Foster began that game with a great try scored from a kick across by Gaskell.

Wilkin is another that's lost sight of his rugby career and his constant banging on about doing something for when he retires and constant plugging of wanting to get into media shows this.
Fair enough, he's got to set himself after rugby but he's paid to do the job in hand and IMO he's not done that for long time now.
Jamie foster is great lad, brilliant with the young kids when they see him in the street or when he's watching his mates play first team rugby but he become to flash and it effected his rugby.

I find it strange you can crucify Meli for losing games due to his mistakes but you can make excuse for Jamie foster who has cost us games this year and possibly cost us a top four finish.

My memory banks tells me we did reasonably OK in the first half. It was in the 2nd half Catalans changed there game plan and got the ball out quicker to the wings. Foster stood out more as a liabilty than the rest of the team and remember quite well of his uncertainity in an already weak defensive line.

| Sending him out on loan to someone like Cas, London, Widnes, etc would probably do him good. Rhys Williams has just joined Cas from Warrington for a month, maybe Foster could join Cas afterwards. It would be a test of whether he wants to fight or not.

Meli = alleged international, too many years on the clock, routinely lets us down in the big games esp grand finals (the last one for which I will never forgive him), is lazy and is a defensive liability usually when we most need him to be a rock.
Foster = not an international, one full season and a bit on the clock, a goal kicking legend (who kicked a penalty from halfway in the last grand final and didn't let us down), looks for work and until the early part of this season while physically at a disadvantage worked hard in defence.
Nah, I can't see why I would make 'excuses' for Foster but not Meli!

| Foster should be using his time out to concentrate on putting on some beef. An extra stone would make a big difference to his game. At the moment he's too light to be of any use returning kicks or bringing the ball out of dummy half. These are massively important aspects of the modern game, especially if you rely as heavily on quick play the balls as we do. His lack of size means he also gets bullied in defence. IMO the reason his confidence is shot is because he knows he isn't physically competitive. A season out of the limelight working on his physique would do him no harm at all, and could see him return as a different player next year, possibly even at centre.

I don't know why people say this kind of thing. Have you not heard of genetics? He may well have been working hard on his physique for all we know but the lad has the genes he has and he could spend all day and night working out with very little to show for it if that's what's been given to him by his predecessors.

Well if that's the case then he will never be good enough to command a regular spot at a top club.
But I don't think it's necessarily true. Obviously he's never going to be massive, but there's no reason why he couldn't add a stone.
