In an interview posted by Saints today he said he prefers to play full back. I think we should try and put youngsters in there true positions in order to get the best out of them as it will give them more confidence from the off. At the moment we seem to be playing too many out of position. For example Wheeler is a stand off, Lomax is a full back, Makinson is also a Full back and Foster has always played centre. I know it's not always possible but there is an example of 4 of our most promising players still playing away from the position they prefer. I do think Makinson should be one of the first on the team sheet though.

I'd dread to see foster in the centre at the moment. We'd be worse in defence than we currently are. His half hearted tackling is embarrassing. |

then again, Wellens was a half back when he came through the ranks (and not very good at it). Had we stuck to playing him there, he would have left the club within months never to be heard of again. |

I agree Foster shouldn't be a Centre. I think your half hearted tackling comment is wide of the mark though and a bit harsh. I did say its not always possible and I know sometimes they end up better in another position. Roby was a Stand Off IIRC? I just can't help but think Wheeler and Makinson would be more effective played in their prefered position rather than sticking them where we have'nt recruited proper.

Lomax is a stand-off played there is whole junior career for Orrell St James. |
