The good old reliable source.

Frustrating, Hull will fancy it !

| I see twitter is now our official source for tittle tattle.
Let me guess, Roby bang to the head, saw that on Friday
Dixon bang to the head, saw that on friday - shoulder brusing from being taken out off the ball too.
Wheeler, shove to the back
Gaskell etc etc etc
Knocks always happen in RL. I don't think a knock and an injury are the same, a knock may make you feel a little sore for a few days where as an injury will impede you playing the game.
I know Royce is more up for rotation and resting injured players, but I'm sure he only means if the injury has an ability to hamper a players performace, if it's just bruising then that's par for the course.

Hardly tittle tattle. This was straight from @Saints1890, the official Saints twitter feed.

Unfortunately, last season they were reported in the same way. Where once a 'knock' was understood as a bang or a bruise, something that would come and go within a week or two at worst, the word became used as a generic description for injury and we had 'knocks' lasting from days to months last season. Hence the panic caused by a wave of 'knocks'.

| Rest the likes of Roby if you wish, there's no need to play them with Dobson, Green and Galea out this side.

This reply is a understandable response given what happened to Warrington last season and to the way that Super League is currently geared.
Many fans (including some who wear the P&B) are now thinking the League Ladder doesn't really matter and its only the last 2 or 3 games in late September / early October that count. This mind set will harm our great game.
I am not having a dig at SS or anyone, a very good Wire friend of mine recently suggested that Warrington should rest Monas x 2 , Briers, Moz, Benny W & Trent throughout the season and only play them a couple of games each month. Get into the top 5 and then in late August bring them all back fresh as daises, win the G/F and be called Super League Champions 2012.
My gripe is with a system that allows a team who finish 8th in a 27 game season to win a few play-off games, get to & win at O/T and then be called Champions of Super League.

| i know what you mean fatbelly, but the playoffs are here to stay until SL and the RFL can fund itself without it.
If we want to skew the concept more in favour of the top side, we don't have to reduce the number of teams in the playoffs. There is a ready made system in Oz that gives an advantage to the top sides.
It's still not a league system , but even a league system has flaws in it. ie at the start of a year, lets say Warrington play widnes, widnes with renewed optimism may be strong, warrington may have injuries and they may pull off what would be an upset. Towards the end of the year Wigan may play Widnes when they are already consigned to the bottom of the league and may hammer them 80 - 0.
I do prefer a league but I also understand that a pure league takes away insentive for lower teams to try harder the longer the season progresses, where as the playoffs still makes them motivated to play harder than they would if middle table mediocraty set in.
I don't know if there is a perfect answer, maybe there is not one, and change lets us see that. I'm happy to change the system, but I would prefer to keep the interest in playing hard all year high for teams around 10, 9 and 8, makes the league more competitive over all.
