| In all fairness, the HJ is just too small, and any other suitable stadia in Lancashire and the like are all football stadia, and we all know how y the Wendyball clubs get when it comes to rugby on their precious pitch.
14k tops is Wire's ground, thats 7k each for a semi. Wigan's average gate is double that, and ours at KR last season is well above (I use that as for this season, average gate wise, its a throwaway one, we're nomadic FFS!).
Shame as it is, Hudds is probably the only suitable place to hold a semi of this size.
Rather annoyed that its Sunday though, the Yorkshire two have a lot less to travel. I know its a couple of hours travel, but its a couple of hours travel on a Sunday night where most will be in the work the next day.

Preston are skint.
I'd have played it there just so it was this side of the pennines but there isn't a massive amount of difference time wise when driving to both.
Rafts of Wiganers would have got the train though with it taking only 10-15mins.

| My feelings are that the HJ is too small (13.5K I believe) and it would easily sell out which is a bit of a problem for me, as not a season ticket holder it may be hard to get tickets.
However if you move the game to Huddersfield I would be surprised if you got more than 13.5k turning up. You would have a showpiece game between 2 of rugby's great clubs played in front of a half empty stadium, with little or no atmosphere and a terrible advert for the sport broadcast live on the Bbc. It would kind of be like Millennium magic but probably a bit better !
If it is a choice between these 2 venues I would say it has got to be the HJ. Full house great atmosphere. Fans can get public transport to and from the game quite easily and make a right good day of it.

| Great. Travelling all the way to Huddersfield, for a "reserved seating" semi final with a rubish atmosphere. Fantastic.

| I wonder if the delay is over the BBC spitting the dummy out?
The Beeb will surely want this for Saturday lunch time, but if it is at Hudds then we have to play the Sunday...

1649_1338292262.jpg I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg |

| You would think Maurice Lindsay being in charge at Preston he would be pushing for some RL games! BBC have a live football game on the Sunday but that is 1pm kick off.
Huddersfield is just a joke! but sadly Warrington went for far too small a stadium to start off with they should have made it 15,000 and then had the option to go to 18,000.

It took us 6 weeks to sell 3,000 for Warrington away and Saints are hardly packing Widnes to the rafters. Get it at Warrington, electric atmosphere, packed out, terracing.

3076_1671446335.jpg SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS
For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.
For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.
Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_3076.jpg |

As I said last night. The 2009 semi, had it been Wigan v Saints would have been played at the HJ, and that came from a member of Wigans commercial dept.
As it turned out we played Wire at Widnes and Saints played Huddersfield at the HJ.

Perhaps you are right! which is a sad reflection on this season, I am sure Wigan could sell 10,000 and then your 3,000 lol, not sure if most of your fellow supporters would agree you can't sell at least 5,000 for a semi, but then when it is Live on TV which is the cheapest?
It is the type of decision the RFL will make to take it to Warrington if it is in the North West as too many of our matches on TV show half full stadiums.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know
