Saw Catalan play Huddersfield a few weeks ago, huddersfield where not great but had enough about them to hold out les cats. I think some hysteria has fallen into the Saints fans. We lost to Wigan and Warrington and suddenly we were struggling to make the top 4.

I recall a few months back some Leeds fans where wondering if they would make 4th spot after their good run, but I tried to point out who they had been playing. Les Cats have been on a good run, whilst we have played the top 2 and lost, but that does not equate to this meaning we are struggling whilst les Cats are flying. I'd fully expect Saints to beat les Cat's with or without their top players. We are not as poor as we think we are, the question is can we get better by the end of the season?

It's a tough one to call..... Catalans still have enough quality in their ranks to win without Dureau, but their set-up offensively will be completely different and I'm not sure whether they'll adapt to it.

I think Greenshields could be moved to 6 in Dureau's position and if so, that'll be okay. Having Fakir and Baille back is a big plus for Les Catalans and will certainly make their pack a lot stronger, Sa and Ferriol are still big loses though.

This I agree with, but I think you're a little dismissive of Catalan's threat - a double over Wigan suggest they've got a performance or two in them.

They're big though, are Les Cats. They're also very well marshalled in the forwards by Henderson.
Agressive defence will go a long way to stopping them.

I don't know where people are getting this confidence from. We've been very poor on ball retention for five weeks now and we are at least two forwards down. It could rain heavily as well, meaning we need forwards. The Dragons have been winning consistently, including beating two teams we have as yet been unable to beat.

I hope everyone's confidence is well placed because all I can see is a defeat for Saints tonight. They would have to pull a brilliant performance out of the bag and while that is not impossible, I think Good Friday was the last time we saw one.

Think about it more as a counter balance to all this negativity. I can't remember such negativity even when we finished 5th out of 12 in 2004.

That was a year when we had the likes of Gleeson and Talau in the centre's, Albert on the wing, Cunningham, Long , hooper and Scully. Gilmore, higham, graham, roby, moore, wilkin, joynt, keith mason, fasavalu etc.

Could you imagine if the fans over reacted that season. They would have sacked off the likes of Roby, Moore, Higham, Wilkin, Graham as not good enough and that playing kids is would get us no where. But actually the next year we finished top.
