If Scott has done what he is alleged to have done then he hasn't learned his lesson, as he got into trouble at Hudds for drinking. How often should a player be given chances when other players may be abiding by the rules? Drinking turns people into irresponsible and unreliable people. Already more pressure was placed upon the team on Sunday without him there.

Personally I think it's a massive problem that people consider drink driving as being a bit daft and not very serious. You might look at it differently if you'd been affected by somebody else just being a bit daft and lost a family member.

Plenty of young players get into this kind of thing. They can't cope with the responsibility of the routine when all their mates are out living it up and they don't realise how lucky they are. Whilst I don't condone drink driving at all, there have been plenty of players at the club with drinking problems before and I hope there is a solution that will see Scott stay at Saints.

I don't drink and drive at all, that said there's a world of difference between someone who has 3/4 pints over 4 hours and drives home, and someone who is so drunk they drive into 3! cars, that's being completely drunk and getting behind the wheel and lucky not to kill anyone
