I don't usually peruse other club's messageboards ( Halifax fan ) but I'm at a bit of a loose end this morning & just having a nosey around and came across this thread, so thanks Obsessive for starting it off.
Up until July last year, I'd co-ordinated the Halifax RLFC scholarship programme for the most recent 2-3 years and also acted as recruitment/talent ID. So I have taken an interest in what other club's have been up to, name watching etc etc and there are a couple of the Saints lads who's names I recognise at the U/16's group. My youngest son is in the same age group and played this last season at Siddal having recently been at King Cross Park for four seasons prior to that. He makes his debut today for Bradford Bulls at Wilderspool, this being his first season at Bradford having previously been with Halifax for two seasons before this.
He's played against Chorley in the national cup earlier this season & at Bold miners a couple of years ago, also in the national cup as U/14's so that's where I recognise your lads' names from.
Obviously, this is a massive year for the lads who intend making a career out of the game, they are effectively playing for academy contracts for the next couple of years, so good luck to everyone. My lads' lot don't have a fixture against Saints, so unfortunately I won't get to see your boys.

Please let us know how the Bulls get on against Warrington, your son will probably be up against a former Halifax scholar Zak Dewhirst.

Yes I know Zak & his team-mate Will Milner very well. Our lad played with them both at King Cross Park & Calderdale service area, he also goes to school with Zak & plays in the school team together.
I coached these lads at service area level for a couple of years, I remember our lads turning Warrington over playing at the Shay at about U/13's or 14's.

Was that Milner who played loose forward for England v France U16's on Tuesday?
Is he any relation to Milner the young hooker at Cas?

Our U15's won Hull 28-18 very good game! Saints massive pack played well.

Our U16's remain 1 year unbeaten! They beat Hull 48-0. Fantastic performance considering The Hull team had a number of England Internationals playing.

I will write a brief about both the U15s and U16s tonight.

Are the u20's receiving a hiding this season? I have to say I don't follow it much, but when I've seen results they seem to have lost?

I think the Saints U18's also got beat 24 - 20.

Was that a surprise?

Yes, they are receiving a hiding this season. But they've had three players out on long term injury (I think it's three) plus a number having to be shunted up to the first team, only to then be out injured. They have been playing u18s in the u20s recently, which in turn has impacted the u18s.

I think our u18s beat Hull, didn't they? No, they didn't. Have just checked on the Hull board. Not a surprise they lost, no, given the above. But apparently our u18s are looking good this season.

But to answer my own question, I guess a lot of the better U18's were playing in the U20's.

Yeah I had noticed the u18's were picking up a few ones, so hopefully we've got some good ones coming through there. How was Forster going before his injury?
