Now that is 'dead funny'! Evans is a promising young player, Atkins is very good against poor sides but no great against good teams. King was better than Shenton but I've not seen anything at all since he came to England to suggest he is anything other than on a par if not slightly below Shenton. Bridge just isn't.

Very good point on the tackles though, he's a machine.

Think it only fait to also give an honourable mention to Gardner, had a cracking game last weeek, really put himself about, and is maybe starting to benefit from his partnership with Shenton.

Gardner has been excellent for a few weeks now. Shenton is bound to be playing a part in that.

Shenton reminds me of Gleeson (when he first came to Saints) in some respects. He doesn't have Gleeson's footwork, but he's more direct and maybe possesses half a yard extra.

I suspect Lomax and Gaskell are both right handed halves, which would explain Shenton's lack of service as he's on the wrong side. It takes time for young playmakers to develop a solid wrong-side pass - but it'll come. The return of Pryce should help as he can shunt the ball to the right with some zip.

Shenton as always been a very good defender so dont know where that came from.
