| There was only Saints and Wire I worried about all season. Leeds had their moments but have faltered too much this year, they've still got plenty of quality but I honestly think McLennan has ruined them.
I'm just chuffed as hell we've got to OT and it's gonna be THE biggest derby in RL...and whoever wins it's likely to be an awesome game. Let's hear it for a massive day next week and a great occasion between the 2 greatest clubs in British RL.  |

If the RFL insist on having a system where the team finishing top are not Champions,then the final played between top and second is the way it should be.
Should be one hell of a final,one hell of an occasion.It doesn't get better than THE DERBY for the Super League Trophy.Can't wait.

Personally, I think us Wigan fans will be more nervous and certainly feel that there's more pressure on us with how we've gone this year. Saints have done extremely well to get to the final as it's been well documented that they haven't had the same half backs all year and injuries elsewhere. We to ourselves have had a few missing but we've managed to keep the main backbone of the team which has been most important.
There's lots of factors coming into this game and I for one can't wait! I'll be hugely disappointed if we lose but I'll most definitely not grumble to much if you do turn us over as you've clearly deserved to be in the final over the course of the season, and in return I think the majority of Saints fans will feel the same the other way round, it's a very strange feeling that although we are clearly rivals there's more respect between the 2 teams than I've ever known before. So in that, make the best team win and enjoy what should be a great final!

Can't say fairer than that. It's totally in the balance, it's going to be ferocious tussle, and it's nice to be going 12 rounds with the old enemy again. Can't wait. |

I like how both fans are trying to pass the mantle of favourites.
Saints - we have half a team out, wigan are clearly favourites.
Wigan - you guys have way more grand final experience, you're favourites.
Ok, most of saints recent grand final experience....is losing experience, that's not a good one. It will either drive the saints players on to make sure they don't lose another (but wouldnt that have been the case last year? and in 08?) or the pressure will weigh heavily.
As for saints being without 1/2 first choice halves it is a clear, definite and a huge disadvantage. That alone swings the favourites tag round to wigan even if saints had finished 20 points clear at the top.
So, wigan are favourites, but it makes no difference. It really doesn't. Saints gameplan will need to spot on. But I just fear, that even with all the grit and determination in the world, you need gamebreakers to win a grand final. and saints are without 2 of theres. Cuopled with wigans outstanding defence and control of the ruck, I can sadly only envisage a 4th loss on the trot for saints.
I think saints are going to be good enough to make grand finals for years to come so they need to get this monkey off their backs and win one.

This year has been amazing for us and beyond mine and probably everyone else's expectations.
Winning on Saturday would be amazing but whatever happens I am so pround to be a Wiganer.
There is not a bigger Derby that Wigan V Saints.
