I'm a she.
I think Brough going off injured helped us. He was very effective for Wakey.
I thought we looked knackered for large parts of that match. I would like to have seen more support play and we had so much pressure on Wakey's line but could not make it pay, which has been a longstanding problem. That's not to take anything away from Wakey's defence which, on the whole, was very, very good, but for the most part we still seemed unsure about what to do with the ball when near the tryline. On Meli's try: which happened first, the touchdown or the corner flag being hit? There was some disbelief among the fans I stand with when the try was awarded but I was in the wrong position to see what happened.
I think we played better than against Hull but given the talent on the park, I think we have a way to go yet before I could say we were playing well as a team. Some individuals played very well though.

| If Wakey hadn't dropped the ball at least eight or nine times it could've been a different story. Despite dominating upfront, the last ten minutes were still nailbitingly close. Turning point for me was Brough going off, that's how close it was.
Saying that, our second half kicking game was very Broughesque, and Leon Pryce was imperious all night.
Oh, and what sort of alien lifeform is Tronc? Terribly one-paced, but twice the size of Tony P!!!!

| Overall a solid performance from Saints but i believe we are yet to hit top gear. Eastmond's try was epic though! I felt a bit sorry for young Matty Ashurst as he was only on the pitch for about five mins and then went of injured with a broken finger and its a real blow to lose Gidley to injury as well! Lomax once agian did a brilliant job at winger. Im not missing Gardner one bit!

It might have been a different story had we not lost 2 players in five minutes too.
We won hard tonight, came from 12 points down against a good defensive set up. Eastmond's inexperience showed a few times with some poor choices of kicks in the first half, but that improved a great deal in the second. I also think we invited pressure at the end by not going for the drop goal to take it to two scores difference, a sign of indecision from the captain? As experienced as he is, it's generally been Long or Sculthorpe who's made that kind of decision over the last 10 years, not Cunningham.

He's got a great engine too think he played about 70 mins on Friday night, very impressive for someone his size. We lacked size on our bench which probably cost us a little that coupled with the fact our ball retention was shocking. Pleasing for me was our goal line and scrambling defense. Morrison was magnificent for us and all our youngsters are showing up really well and proving they are Super League standard.
Pryce was outstanding and Cunningham really steadied you down, he's never going to be replaced and you'll miss him immensley when he finally retires. Not often I've come away from Knowsley Road disappointed with the result as in disappointed we didn't get something out of the game, I've come away disappointed after a few hammerings. Still think you miss Long but you'll be up there come the end of the season as always, just got a sneaky feeling the pie eaters will take your place in the top two though. Sorry!

| Whilst we weren't particularly fluent, I thought we were very gutsy. To win the game without our strike Centre and his replacement also injured shows how courageous we were and for a 20 minute period in the 2nd half, I thought we were completely dominant. The kicking game was strong, the defence was strong and we showed some nice touches at times. Full credit to Wakey, they are a gvery good side. If they'd have kept hold of the ball a bit more, who knows what they could've done.
The first half wasn't the best but once Leon Pryce stepped up, the team came to life. He is a big key to our success. If he has a good season, Saints will.

| it wasn't the complete performance, but to put into context.
* 4 first teamers missing
* played away a catalans last week (a day lost travelling)
* wakey had a week off last week
* losing gidley, then ashurst, roby having to play in the centres.
* half-backs still learning to gel
i thought meli was in touch, having watched it the wakey winger takes the corner flag out, but meli's legs look to be in touch also, similary wakey's first try came from a forward pass, and their second following a blatant knock on the tackle previous. give wakey credit, they've already beaten leeds this season. it was a good win for saints, why there is a constant feeling amongst some of our fans to give us no credit is amazing at times

I was calling for the 1 pointer - I think it's part of the learning curve for Eastmond, it would have killed the game but in the end I guess ti didnt matter
I think you're right, Eastmond will probably frustrate you a little at times this season but with each game he will gain experience and knowledge. Next season he'll probably understand alot more and become a more complete player through his experiences this season

| It's whether people can be patient while these youngsters learn their trade. It's undoubted that there are some talented youngsters coming through but Saints supporters have proven to be not the most patient of people. I heard a few supporters having a go at Lomax and Eastmond at the Wakefield game for errors brought on by inexperience.
Am looking forward to seeing this Macgennis chap too, I've been told by someone who goes to watch the youngsters that he could be the best of the lot.

| First 20 not that impressed then we settled into it and at times showed flashes of class, bit nervy at the end when a few wrong decisions were taken.
Good performance considering the injuries as well.
Thought Eastmonds kicking was in the main very good, Leon took the ball up well and the speed of the play the ball allowed us to get a roll on.
Thought Wakey were a decent team Tronc in particular is one player I would have liked to see in a redV, cant believe hes on mega money.
Only negative for me was Puletua and hopefully he can pick up his form.

| A couple of people I used to work with who watch the kids are quietly optimistic about Magennis. But he's still very young. At best he's only likely to make a serious impact somewhere between 2011 and 2012. It could be as late as 2015 before he reaches full potential.
