If you gave me the choice of England v Germany in a World Cup Quarter Final and Saints v Celtic in a league game, I wouldn't choose the Saints game that's for sure.

But it's not that simple. Sport isn't mutually exclusive. You can be passionate about one sport whilst also being passionate about another.

The world cup, forgetting England's involvement for a while, is a fantastic event. A jamboree of sporting goodness, depending on the times it's on TV. I can't wait for it.

Then there is England. Despite what a few people on here say about it being wendyball it's also a sport I like watching. I played it up to semi pro level.

your quite right. i cant watch football, it bores me, however a couple of people i stand with are liverpool season ticket holders and never miss a game, they go to saints home and away, but if there's a clash they go to liverpool, does this make them bad saints fans? no at all.

It makes them more loyal Liverpool fans, though, if Saints lose out every time. So I would say their heart really lies with soccer, not rugby league. Whereas there are many of us whose hearts lie with rugby league and even if Saints were playing Celtic Crusaders (or whatever they're going to be called next season), we would still be at Knowsley Road to watch them as opposed to elsewhere watching any other sporting event which may be taking place at the same time.

Probably something to do with a Liverpool Season ticket costing about 4 times as much a Saints one!

i wouldnt call them unloyal, they go to every match they can inc celtic/quin/cats away get home and away shirts each, always use saints official travel to put more money into the club. Exactly the sort of new fans we need if we are going to progress
