Yes, for the losing side.
He was a leyther, we had to humour him.
He actually came very close to signing for Wigan, Ellery Hanley saw his defensive deficiencies and wanted rid.
Thank god he never came.

He didn't knock on as the try was awarded!
It's great to know a saints player scored the last try at central park.

Ah, is [ithat[/i the reason for Rogues' bitterness? He's usually so balanced as well, for a Pie. He's still hurting, isn't he? Bless.

Tommy actually got picked for the GB squad on at least one occasion but had to pull out through injury.
It was sometimes said by people that Tommy couldnt tackle, however i well remember him making over 40 tackles in one match.
He was also the last true exponent of the cumberland throw, a martial art tackle that no players today know how to execute.
He is one of the top 3 British halves ive seen, the others being Scofield and Tony Myler.

The main reason for the biterness is because Tommy spoiled the party and was the last points scorer ever at Central Park.
That's the main reason, even though they won't admit it.

Not true.
I never rated him, neither did Ellery Hanley, and neither did any GB/ England coach.
Now, you can accuse me of bias (which of course I'm not) but how do you explain the others?
Leon Pryce is by far a better player than Martyn ever was.

| Hanley never rated Martyn (probably because Martyn made a statue out of him in the CC Semi before he did his knee), and Hanley paid the price for it. Tommy had more skill under his left fingernail than Edwards ever possessed.

Yeah Ellery's Tricky Trindall plan was a far better option
Martyn was all class, great player.

| Martyn was a very underated player and but for injuries at crucial times (two bionic knees) would have played for GB. He did play for Ireland though so he is an international.
Regarding his partnership with Long it was one of the best I have seen. The pair really clicked on the field bar the odd off day which every player has from time to time. Tommy's 40 /20's were super.
